Daft but I hear this a lot that it can be the start of many an argument.

Why? ...

How should it be kept. Up or down with the lid on top. How ?

Need to know what the issue is with a toilet seat ?

Never had an ‘issue’.

Husband always puts it back down. It’s literally never been discussed in our household.

Why does he put it up in the first place ?

Manchester (she/her)

Put the lid down, it's why it's there, to stop spray.

Hillside desolate

The lid should be down and it always is in my house, so no arguments here.

He puts the actual toilet seat up, not the lid. But he closes the lid to flush (as do I)

Why put the seat up when it's there to sit?

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Lid down , before the flush (which can take ages if it's a slow close lid) for reasons mentioned above about spray, but also cuts the noise down too.
