The Crown Estates today unveiled only the second plaque dedicated to a fictional character.

The plaque simply says 'Ziggy Stardust 1972'

It was unveiled in Heddon St to mark the spot where the iconic album cover for 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' was taken

so?..A fitting tribute to an inspirational album and part of London's recent history..or a waste of time and money?

I thinks it's an excellent tribute to an "inspirational album and part of London's recent history". When I saw the opening line to this thread I immediately knew what song it was and started singing. Such an iconic album, well worth remembering and, it's a bit of fun.

I think it's a very modern way of celebrating an iconic figure and artiste

Besides, it beats pushing through the toilet paper square
