Echoes from Meddle and Dogs from Animals - I like the long-players.

Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2, which I guess is what a lot of people will associate Floyd with is not a good representation of them in my opinion anyway. Pt 3 was far superior also! Hehe.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I was at Uni with a major Floyd fan - every time he felt sad (which was often, as he was rubbish with women), he'd sit in the corridor with his (high quality) stereo blaring PF.

Put me right off them.

I really like a few tracks on Dark side of the moon, meddle and The Wall...

But overall I find their 'music' morose, depressing and boring...I have never been one for sound effects.

Especially the Live 8 reunion version from 2005! Mind you, the whole gig was fantastic!

If I had to choose, I would have a hard job! There maybe one or two that I am not too keen on, but in the main, I love it all...

Ahh! I see where it has gone wrong for you.. You are looking for something that isn't there.. There is nothing to "Get" it's just music! No hidden meanings, nor sublim messages.. Just music!

If you like it, fine. If not, also fine..

I can see what petilante means...some of their lyrics are very very deep and like something out of 'psychology for dummies'..

I went to see the wall performed live the first time around...great effect, and I enjoyed quite a lot of the music..all in all is was a great show, bit the that really stood out for me was during the interval (the only gig I have ever been to with an interval...which was probably there as some deep seated meaningful statement of intent ) all the beardies and crusties in the bar seemed to be enveloped in deep discussion about the meaning of life etc...its was like a psychologists/social worker convention!

I still dont 'get' the film even now...what is/was it actually about?..perhaps I tried to read to much into the plot..

Then again...I am a bit slow on the uptake..

Nick Mason once described a lot of the bands early stuff, referring to all the sounds effects etc as 'crap'

I wouldnt say the band are crap...they did some cracking stuff...just a little overated and living on the back of Dark Side Of The Moon

Meddle, not so keen on their later than money stuff so depressing. First saw them at Fairfield halls in 68 on a youth club outing then at various musical stages, money was the last - went off them after that. Think that prism sucked all the colour outa them.
