Is a treadwear rating 240 poor?

I did have old tyres with a 400 rating, so would last 40% longer

Brighton - even Hove!

There’s a bloke who wears a rubber gimp outfit. I bet he’s into tyres.

I think it's an American system based on a control tyre that's rated 100 so you can guesstimate roughly how much longer the higher rating will last

In theory a 600 tyre will last 3x longer than a 200 but it's not that scientific as I think the tyre manufacturers do the ratings ?

Apparently VW had a tyre that was rated 1200

They not all lab tested though, car manufacturers don’t have a great track record there.

Stockport

What do you want your tyres (other than save your life) to do?

Summer for spirited driving?

Winter tyre?

Eco?

I am moving over to all season and won't care about the cost or how long they last, it's about getting to work and friends that counts for me.

If I lived in a place with snow and had to work over the christmas period for instance, then would have a set of winters on and again wouldn't worry about cost, rather not have an accident than crash because I went for the cheapest tyre going!

No idea mate.

I've been waiting for months to hear about my tyres after I was done for two bald tyres.

I received a letter in the post today. They're asking me to fill the form out and post it back with a guilty or none guilty plea.

I have to plea guilty.. Do anyone know what the fine could be?

Three points and up to £2,500 per bald item apparently.

Yeah i was thinking something like that. I don't know why they have to take it to court though.. I mean the policeman told me about it and followed me to the tyre place to get them changed at the time.

I'm guilty of having bald tyres, I can't see the point in court action.
