My passport has run out, what to do??

Wait untill after would be my advice.then get one of the brand new UK passports

As for id,you can still use the old one,except for travel,the date may have expired,but it's still you,

I've just renewed mine as I'm away at the end of October and it didn't have 6 months on it

need it to do a CRB check for work .... CRB won't do if more than 6 months out of date ... it rn out in march

You don’t need a passport for DBS.

Won’t driving licence suffice? I have to DBS/CRB check my staff and that is acceptable. (If you drive obviously!)

You don't even need that. Iv never had a driving licence and only got a passport 3 months ago but had DBS checks since I was 20.

You need a birth certificate, and 4 other documents. Has to be something official- bank statement, council tax ect...

Discovered recently mine had expired back in April - not planning any trips anytime soon, and no longer have any immediate need to have it, so I'm waiting until such time as I know I'll need one, then will renew...

....they're effectively only valid for nine-and-a-half years anyway (for countries that insist on six month's validity left) - so why get it six months or more beforehand, and shorten its life even more?
