How do you ?

Deal with no shows ? I mean if you been chatting. Cammed etc. Planned to meet and the person lets you down. They later give you an excuse as to why they couldn't make it. So you rearrange and again the person doesn't show.

Cut your losses?

Third time lucky?

Manchester (she/her)

Occasionally second chance, never a third.

We wouldn’t give a 3rd chance. That’s just us.

I always took things on a case by case basis. As a single parent I know life can often unavoidably throw spanners in the works. There are lots of people on here who are parents, carers or just have other responsibilities in their life.

So you scratch the surface and dig a little. You start to get a spidey sense for what is genuine and what is not, regardless of the plausibility of the story (after all sometimes truth is stranger than fiction). I just find it sad when people can't be upfront and honest. After all surely we're all big boys and girls aren't we? It's ok to get cold feet or just find something better or more convenient. It's just a shame some people mess you around when you could have made other plans.

Life gets in the way sometimes but if an apology doesn’t come with the excuse, no second chance

As probably mentioned even as adults we cant plan for everything in life, kids, work, family and a whole load of other things could have happened but i would expect a courtesy call/text, if they cant do that they dont respect you and most likley put milk in first when making a cup of tea.

I may have got this wrong. Do you mean they cancelled before the meet? If so life happens and that’s fine. I thought you meant they just didn’t turn up and gave you an excuse afterwards, in which case no that’s not fine at all. I’d go nuts if someone just didn’t turn up. That’s just plain rude and not acceptable at all!

There and to the left a bit

Hasn't happened to me yet - usually because by the time we have got to talking about meeting we both have a fair idea that the other is genuine and will show up.

As Frontier said though if it were to happen it's a case of treating each case individually and using a healthy dose of gut instinct. Things happen, plans change, but with open and honest communication it's acceptable and can be worked round.

This

Someone canceling say the day before and are apologetic is very different from someone who just fails to turn up leaving you stood up x

I'd give a second chance if the first no show show was handled properly...by that I mean letting me know in advance. A third chance then no. My time is too precious to be messed about.

First time I showed to the meet and he didn't turn up. He text later that night to say he had car troubles and no credit. The second time he mailed about 5 minutes before we were meant to meet and said he couldn't get it if work.

Poor excuses ,definitely wouldn't give a third chance.

I think it depends on the situation, cancelling before with a valid excuse is fine, a no so is just rude.

We all have lives outside of here and things happen out if our control but like everything else, communication is key!

I’d expand my age range slightly. Book a flight to Stansted where this gorgeous man would meet me and show me the delights of beautiful Saffron Walden.
