I think it does, cos I feel it takes out the speed of the game and the guessing of it as it is more fun to guess if it was or not a spicific situation as you talk more about it then, in the long run. I can see less people attending games cos of it

All it ever needed was goal line tech if gonna use var the it should be like both rugbys refs call is default if its not obvious

To correct a clear and obvious error only. Not if in the build up to a goal, the attacker was millimetres offside.

However, each game with VAR has five officials sitting in a locked room, they will find more work to justify the cost.

I was at Chelsea on Sunday, we all celebrated what we thought was an equaliser only to have it not given by VAR.

I don't think var itself is the problem its the guys using it and the stupid rule clear and obvious error. If the ref gives a pen which shouldn't of been that has to be an error but because its not obvious its ignored. Just adds to the original mistake and the delay is pointless.

You need to be able to celebrate a goal ffs!

It should only be used if the mistake should have been picked up by the offials at the game.

So they need to build in a margin of error to allow for that and the fact that the system is not accurate down to millimetres. It needs something like a one foot margin, anything within that is deemed onside if the match officials miss it.

The Son decision on Saturday was a disgrace.

I’m glad that I watch a championship team. Only goal line technology is really needed, all other decisions are still down to interpretation.

Talking about this last week with friends. Goal line technology. Brilliant. Var as it is currently is not good. Refs and officials should do their job as normal. Var could then only be used like in Tennis or Cricket. Each team has a number of challenges. If they think the refs decision is wrong they have 10/15 secs or so to approach the 4th official and call a review. Get it right, you keep your review, get it wrong you lose a review. There is a long way to go. Var us young and things will be tweeked going forward. I think its a good thing but it does need tweeked.

I had thoughts along the same lines but a mate pointed out that they could be used strategically it works well in cricket and tennis due to the stop and start nature of the game in a flowing game like football it could be used to stop a game at a crucial point unless you only allow reviews when play has stopped which is basically var

It's no fun madly cheering a goal when 3-4 minutes later it's disallowed. Taking the very heart, soul and spontaneity out of football. It's even worse live than watching on TV, because there is then jeering and derision from the opposing fans.

A goal disallowed in this manner gives the opposing team a huge boost which simply isn't fair.

Find it funny all the football fans bleating about var, they use the excuse it slows the game down, total bollocks. The only reason they don't like it is because thier teams can't cheat, it'll stop all the diving, the play acting when tackled, the thuggish bullying of the ref when a decision goes against them.

Football is a game of cheating to win, used properly var will stop that and fans might actually see proper football for the first time in decades.

But sounds like they don't want that, they're happy to keep the cheating if it means they get a win.
