For those who don't know cuckquean/ queening is in layman's terms "reverse cuckolding".

But the real question is: which way is it spelt, and why?

I'm inclined to agree with you but I've also seen the word spelled most often using that hurtful arrangement. So do you think it's a popular typo or that there's a reason it's spelled that way?
