Looking for a neck tattoo or something on my shoulder tailing off on my neck perhaps. something along the collar line which is visible with a tee shirt but hidden with a tie shirt.

spent hours trawling through sites, shops etc and at a total loss as too what i want exactly.

I need inspiration so anyone feel free to pm me with links would be great.

fooking hurts on your neck, i have my neck tattooed, its an extention of my arm, goes up over my shoulder and up my neck, was very tender i can tell you lol

Its kinda personal to you tho and you have to live with it so i wouldnt be asking others what they think i should get

are they all of a particular style?

if not is there a style you like?

go to your chosen tattoo artist with this and ask for their help, if they are worth their salt they will love the challenge of coming up with an idea for you

also this way it will be bespoke and i don't think you can beat knowing your ink is yours and yours alone

My suggestion.. don't do it...

but if your gonna do it you better get something that means a hell of a lot to you... because it can completely ruin your life... on a day to day basis (getting stopped by police, followed by store security, and generally looked down upon by 80% of people) not even getting started on work, getting loans, etc etc.

and btw.. that includes the ones that are well done, well looked after and look pretty. I love tattoos and I dont care where people have them but I'm not the rest of the world.

she told me i look like a thug cos i have a staffy, a bald head and most recently, a tattooed leg

as thugs go, i'd make a pretty crap one

Take your time OP .. find stuff you really like and find a good artist who can come up with some designs based on what you like.

Thanks for the suggestions folks, currently i have a full sleave and a half sleave, im looking to continue the full sleave up onto shoulder and neck then eventually joining up with the half sleave on the other arm.

As for a neck tattoo suggestion, how about tattooing a shirt collar and tie. Saves valuable minutes getting dressed in the morning.

It took me over 20 years to finally decide what I wanted and where I wanted it (tattoo I mean) I decided on a butterfly at the base of my spine - that way my mum can't see it as I know she hates them - butterflies are very personal to me as they signify changing into something beautiful which I feel in the past 4 years I have done. I'm still a curvy lady and hope to always be curvy but I have become more confident in myself. Enough that my life will soon change dramatically. I'm due to have another tattoo done soon, designed by someone off this site after I asked who would do it for me and my best friend. Again, the design is special to the two of us and has a lot of meaning.

What I think I'm trying to say is that a tattoo if for life unless you want to go through the expense and pain of corrective tattooing or removal. Think very very carefully about what has meaning to you rather than - I want a tattoo on my neck what do you think I should get. And make sure you get a proper tattooist - I've seen some awful artwork performed by people setting up shops and still not knowing what they are doing.
