Aylesbury

Depends on the baby animal really. Baby rats and raptors arent particularly cute, and neither are human babies.

Some facts:

Slow worms are legless lizards.

They're native to Eurasia though absent from Ireland.

They prey on a wide variety of garden pests (they're my friends).

Adults grow up to 18" long and can live for 20 years.

Eggs develop inside the female and the young are born live (ovi-viviparous) in August and September.

And although lovely if they live in your garden are a hazard when cutting the grass...

Having to walk up and down stamping for an hour beforehand trying to make sure they all hidden well away.

If slow worms are legless lizards, they should not be allowed in pubs

They are also protected. A housing development near me had to delay the build, due to many nests on site. My son was 2 at the time & fascinated by the 5ltr bucket filled with them. A conservationist used to come out most days to collect them & move them somewhere safe
