Live in Scotland Play in England

Omg im on a wee break with a friend and she's been snoring non stop while ive been trying to sleep for past 90 mins. I think im soon gonna be overtired as its 21 hrs since we left home and travelled to France. Ive tried ear plugs, listening to stuff using headphones.. nothing is helping. We had a busy day planned tomorrow with an early start but at this rate I'll be spending the day sleeping!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I disturb G’s sleep a bit sometimes lol he knows this, it takes him to a lighter sleep long enough for me to fall asleep. I can’t reveal all my secrets as he will totally read this hahaha - Mrs

I hope you get some sleep.

I reckon prodding or tickling will only work for the few moments it takes her to fall back asleep

She's already sleeping on her side and ive already tried ear plugs

All over the shop

Face sit her. That’ll either shut her up or the snoring will vibrate and will get you off.

Failing that, strangulation.

(Sorry, I’m a right ratty odd mood).

Wake her up and tell her that her snoring is keeping you awake. If she falls back asleep and carries on, put her hand in a warm bowl of water.

If she makes it to the toilet bowl after you've dunked her hand, fair play to her

How do the nasal strips work? Seems in theory the idea is to stop mouth breathing but she's definitely breathing through her nose! I don't get it. She even bought some weird contraption that i think is designed to keep the mouth closed (think jaw brace with velcro ties at back of head)

This is obviously not her problem

Just say you saw a massive spider close to her pillow. Chances are she will stay awake all night and you can sleep soundly.

On a mooch

We used to put toothpaste up their nose st school, by the tine they’ve cleaned up we were all asleep.... bad I know but it worked

Or just roll them out of bed, they’ll be awake a while whilst the body recovers from what just happened and sane result you’ll be asleep before them

Bad I know but works

Hiding in the shadows

I snore if I lay on my back.

I can't breathe through my nose, so laying flat my tongue 'falls back'

On my side or belly is much better.

Try rolling her

My husband snores like a pig.

He never used to but is now very muscular and he says it's when he is relaxed asleep his breathing is restricted from muscles in his neck. I blame those things he takes to make him bigger.

Tell him to seek medical advice, it could be life threatening Sleep Apnea etc.

Sleep in a different room.

It's the only way

Sometimes with snorers it's so loud you can hear them through walls!

I had a downstairs neighbor once that I could hear snoring - I hated him

If you was the first one to sleep you wouldnt hear her snoring.

As I do snore, I expect to be disturbed by the other person.

As goes for the ladies that admitted they do snore

you must be getting a nice sleep then.

"I was under the impression that gum shields help with snorers."

I have them, pretty expensive. £250 fitted by your dentist. They work by holding your bottom jaw forward, restricting your tongue sliding back and blocking your airwaves. The wearer will feel much better too, as serious snoring is often a form of sleep apnoea as someone pointed out earlier, frequently waking the body as it has stopped breathing.

Most of these snoring aids, sprays and what ever are all fads and only have one purpose, is to make money for the providers and most don't work. Two major factors in snoring is weight and alcohol. If snore badly change lifestyle or seek medical advice.

I've had this. When they fall asleep roll em onto their side and put a pillow up to their back, it stops em rolling on to their back and snoring, worked for me.

Everyone snores to some extent

Some worse than others

A mandibular device sometimes helps

Or an op but even these may not work

Send me a private message and tell me what it is.

I dont want anyone else to know the cure as there is alot of money to be made from it.
