Personally, I'm not a fan of 3rd person profiles, I know I do it a lot in Forum, hands up.

Also, there are a lot of torso pics over anything else.

Better than most if you ask me though

What would you like to achieve with the profile is my question I guess?

As a forumite profile it kinda makes sense to ppl who are familiar with you and it displays wit and expression. To non-forum types or ppl viewing you cold they'd probs think it a bit over complicated and introverted and I doubt it'd score you many dates, but I could be wrong and a profile is only the beginning of a friendship, meet, relationship or whatever comes from it....

Tough one really, I don't want to be critical because I actually really like you both on the forums and from the few short exchanges we've had. But I think my opening question is the key, what do you want the text to acheive?

(well aware I'm in no position to give advice, but then my profile isn't really designed to achieve anything other than to facilitate my occasional sarcastic comments in the forum)

I am not trying to offend I realise you are not a stupid man and you wouldn't ask if you didn't want an honest answer. Some would ask hoping lip service or sycophantic comments unlike some on here. I agree that you should keep it if you like it. It doesn't come across as arrogant to me. Humour in there and geekiness.

I would know from reading it that we're not compatible but I see that as a good thing in that we wouldn't be wasting time chatting. It will attract the right kind of person.
