Folkestone

What would you say for you was the best dressed era ?

For us we differ. Being a modernist I like early 60's suits and the Ivy league look. My wife likes the 50's look.

In the 20th century I'd say 40s or 50s. Over the course of history I'd say the late 16th century

For men I'd say the fifties; plenty of suits and waistcoats.

For women: the sixties

Probably the 60 where we still had plenty of bespoke tailors.

There are still some you just have to look. A bespoke shirt is to me a piece of art

I like the flexibility the Internet has brought. My style ranges from blazer and jeans to 50s dresses, but with contemporary and idiosyncratic features. I'm not sure, in the past, it would have been as acceptable to be quirky like I am.

My Ice Castle! South Wales

1930's 40's and 50's when men looked so smart in suits and hair was just so. The women had lush dresses, skirts and tailored trousers with immaculate hair

Just worked on London Fashion Week and the 80s is back in a biiiiig way...shoulder pads, rouched sleeves, square necklines, longline tailoring...the whole shebang.

Not my cup of tea at all, I'm more of a tailored 40s/50s feel kinda gal!

1920s - 1950s, the women were feminine and didnt feel the need to parade around naked in public to get attention like a lot of young girls I see these days, they had self respect. (FAB isn't really public as you can control what you show and you can still have self respect on here).

Men dressed respectfully and there is nothing sexier than a man in a suit.

1950s.

Men more commonly wore suits (delicious) and women's fashion from that decade suits my figure. I'd prefer to keep my 21st century lingerie, though....

Best dressed as in smart or best dressed as in variety etc...I think most periods...remember the punks, the glam rock, the hippy etc etc..for me best dressed is to be out there..either ultra smart etc or way off the scale..look at Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen...it was smart, sheik but also out there...60s, 70s ., 80s for me...the out n out fashion periods for anything goes

Late 1700’s to mid 1800’s.

Women in tight corset/bodices with a heaving cleavage an men regaled in full officers’ ceremonial dress.

Have to love period drama.

I totally agree!

I’m a big fan of the roaring 20s/30s when women were coming to the fore in fashion

It could be the stone age.

Less to strip off....

And would suit some of the neanderthals on here.

Present company excluded. Of course
