This for us too now although we no longer do clubs as our wants have changed & the casual fun sex even if regular with he same person/people isn't enough anymore & we are finding the idea of a poly thruple more & more attractive.

So we'll do a few of the big socials soon just to get "Out there" again.

As far as "Standards" go, that's a bit crass really, Yes you have "Criteria" but if someone is outside of those but for whatever reason be it looks/personality etc. You find them attractive & want to play "Make the bed sqeak" its hardly dropping your standards is it?

I can only react to the words in front of me - and suggesting I have taken what you said too literally would suggest that you didn't mean what you said which would make your comment deliberately inflammatory - what does that indicate?

Or alternatively you did mean them - in which case my "literal" response was appropriate.

Either way back to your OP - why would I lower my standards? The only reason I can think anyone would do so would be desperation - and frankly (to misquote one George O'Dowd) I'd rather have a cup of tea than do that

I still wouldnt lower my standards because then I'm changing who I am or the way I am.

If i had no job I'd be putting my time into getting one and less time on here until i got myself sorted but that's just who i am i wont change for no one because if they are wanting you to change then it's not meant to be.

This is what I am trying to understand. If say to have a long term relationship I require someone with a sense of humour (I am picking something random here) but I will forgo that for a meet, am I being condescending and belittling? Have I lowered my standards or just altered them the suit the situation?
