Dying days of summer

I love this time of year. Still some heat in the sun but crisp and chilly in the mornings, spectacular early evening sunsets, the leaves beginning to turn and drawing the curtains to be cosy in the evenings

Every time I sit out in my wee garden with a cuppa I think, "this could be the last time this year!" It makes the time spent seem all the sweeter.

Anyone else?

I had a weekend planned away, time's running out for the best sun sets.

Still, fingers crossed!

High summer, or early Autumn are the best sunsets I think

I prefer spring but I do get what you mean. Autumn is death and dying to me but spring is all new life. (Unusually positive for me I think )

Had a cup of tea outside this morning and Thought it could be the last time this year. Lovely morning not too hot but pleasantly warm.

Yes I love Spring too. The transformation, everything springing to life all fresh and new.

I love this time of year and we always get a few splendid dsys in September. A last hurrah of summer .

Soon the trees will become a beautiful patchwork of reds and golden browns . I'll get the log burner fired up and that perfect Smokey aroma of dried oak logs

Usually I love it, but my poor wee nipples are agony and the cold makes it worse.

Yes! I absolutely love it. Autumn was always my favourite time of year when I was in Cults. Driving through the beautiful scenery and the warm colours of the scenery. I loved coming back from a day of lectures and lighting the fire and cosying up with a good book. I might have to go back soon!

Somewhere In The Ether…

I’ve just returned from taking my trusty mutt out on a lovely woodland walk.

The gradually sinking yet still fairly warm Autumnal sun peeking through the trees as we walked. It was quite beautiful

One got me before, and managed to get away before I could get it.

It's all subjective, I've genuinely seen the most ineffable spectacular evocative sunsets at all times , sea and mountains always rank highly but forests are enchanting too

Sunrise or set across a snow covered mountain scape are wild x

Yeah I'm kinda a sunset lover

Yes I was! After graduating and during my Masters. I lived with my partner at the time. I have some outdoor photos from around there.

I do love this time of year, second to high summer. The changing colours alongside the still warm days are beautiful. It reminds me of my university campus which was set in rolling wooded hills. Jumping through piles of leaves always reminds me of that

Autumn is my favourite season for so many reasons. Crisp cool mornings, Indian summer days, mesmerising sunsets, patchwork golden, amber and brown leaves cascading from the trees. Halloween & bonfire night. Hearty winter meals with a bottle of wine and good company. It will soon be Christmas.
