Afternoon fabbers, without going into too much detail, this week has already been a nightmare with a string of bad news already.

I don't want to dwell too much on the bad stuff but more focus on how I can try stay positive. With that in mind what does everyone do to stay positive when you get unexpected bad news?

Mr P.

Don't focus on long term. Make short term goals. Pick one thing to be happy/positive about. Sending hugs x

Guided meditation can be a great grounding tool.

Positivity is not always possible or useful. Sometimes you need to face the bad stuff in order to deal with it. I try and acknowledge the bad thing but remain positive about what is still good in my life.

If we learn from the mistakes in our lives

And cope with the bad things that come our way

Then that's got to be a positive thing - surely?

Yes I agree. I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to remain positive and certainly it makes life easier if it's possible but if it's not it might even be a good thing to allow ourselves a bit of down time

I completely agree with what you're saying but in this instance it's a couple of completely unexpected and uncontrollable issues that have happened at once and they've just knocked me for six really.
