Sadly they seem to dominate most high streets. I would always choose an interesting looking independent. If not then I guess Costa. I find the coffee and food in Starbucks bland / tasteless. Do you have a favourite?

I try to choose an independent coffee shop. There is a lovely one near me.

I've been boycotting Starbucks for about a decade now, ever since I found out that cut a ton of staff after announcing record profits and that they charged the emergency services for water during the events of 9/11.

Independent whenever I can. Chain at a push when nothing else is available and I’m dying for a bit! Haha

Joe and the Juice is cool!

I really don't get coffee shops at all....I just don't get the appeal of a Starbucks or a Costa Coffee etc.....never have done....maybe its just me!!

But I'm always one for going a pub or a bar or a restaurant, but I just don't get the coffee shop trend....

All coffee tastes the same to me, so I go for closest one to my location

Pretty does a decent coffee.

I dont have milk or sugar or any ridiculous frappacappavanillachocchino nonsense

I need the actual beans to taste nice.

There are a couple of independent cafes nearby and I have to admit their coffee tastes bloody awful

Same here. I'm not a coffee drinker but hubby hates coffee shops. We even take his fancy coffee machine away with us in camper van

"Pret * not pretty "

I gathered that. They sell a ‘love bar’ in Pret, that always makes me smile.

I fucking hate big coffee chains. Overpriced, underflavoured bullshit. And yes, I have tried them 'thanks' to a couple of Fab meets. Fucked if I'd initiate a meet there - rather make it at a pub.

As a rare coffee purchase, very independant coffee house/bean roaster in town.

Starbucks coffe was one of the worst things I ever tasted in my whole life. Always prefer th little shops that actually make proper coffee, and I was pleasanlty surprised by how many shops in London actually offer a really good espresso.
