Does it (mildly) irritate anyone else when people assume you're rejecting them because you're shy?

If I were that shy I wouldn't be here!

Shy? Aren’t you half naked in most of your profile pictures - wouldn’t of been my first guess of words to describe you...

Rejection is rejection - people are always going to find an excuse to make themselves feel that little bit better

It's stuff like, "I see you deleted my message. You shy, baby?" No I'm not, and now I'm pissed off.

Its easier for it to be your issue, rather than admitting they are unattractive, dull, stupid (delete as appropriate)

I was always told "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"

So you're actually being kind - in some cases. ??

I've been accused of being shy for not wanting to take part in a 3 man gangbang at 4am.

That's not shy luv, that's just my self preservation kicking in.

Some people want an excuse for why they're being rejected and if they can pass that reason on to the person who rejected them....well it makes them feel better.

I for one assume everyone rejects me because they cannot understand my amazingness.

Someone said I must be shy when I politely declined their offer of meeting them in their truck at the local motorway services, at midnight.

Um...

Well how very inconsiderate of you, I mean who in their right mind would pass up that offer.

It does mildly make me incandescent with rage when men think that I'm rejecting their advances because I lack confidence, yes .

A guy actually said this to me at a party when I had just forcibly removed his hand from up my skirt for the second time.

I like mildly incandescent with rage (it sometimes more than mildly irritates me to be fair).

If you're going to assume things about me because I've said no to you, can we go with bitch instead of shy? I like being a bitch when it's warranted. And not respecting my no... Totally warranted.

This is what pisses me off at clubs. I can’t refrain from getting annoyed sometimes - you can clearly see when a woman isn’t into you, so why can’t you just leave her be.

That’s when I feel sorry for single females at parties. The amount of women that I’ve had to pretend to be their boyfriend or guest is actually disgusting. At least 2/3 women every club.

Hmmm "I'm not too shy to break your nose" would have probably left my mouth

Plus side, you learn a thick skin and to channel the inner bitch. No you do not touch me, etc. At most clubs and parties, if anyone messes with me there's hell to pay. And all I have to say is get off, loud enough for others to hear.

I mean yeah that’s all nice and stuff - but shouldn’t be happening. But it does happen to us men too sometimes. I’ve had a very very attractive women lock me in a room & not let me out to I give her a kiss at least - it’s a shitty situation. (She was d*unk - don’t care where I am. A d*unk woman is a d*unk woman - no go zone)

Oh I agree, but shit people exist and I can handle it. And the culture usually empowers me to do so.

I think they're mostly just trying to engage you in conversation. It's kinda like when a kid goes quiet and adults tease them to get them joining in.
