For me it can be a place where very different people bond over the most implausible things. Where boundaries are pushed and blurred, where normal social pretensions don't always apply.

Nope, not for me. Other people have different views - that's fine, people come to fab for all sorts of reasons. But that's not what fab is for me

Keeping in touch with old friends who are now on Fab, I don't do any social media except Fab so it's easier this way.

I don't think there is a single definition, it's unique to each of us as individuals - the key is finding those whose definition is aligned to our own.

For me it's a site that allows me to encounter like minded people and be able to discuss sex and sexuality openly and honestly without judgement (mostly!!) and in some cases meet those people and take things a stage further.

For me it’s my social media with a saucy edge. No more than that really. I chat, love the MLS and enjoy chatting. It’s more sociable than anything else

Fab forum culture is very tribal (in my opinion). There are leaders, elders and the rest of the tribe. Outsiders are only welcome if they are deemed useful i.e. women, young men are actively discouraged. Conformity to tribe rules is encouraged and non conformity discouraged by exclusion. The tribe can come together to support someone and actively enjoy various leisure activities and games.

Fab site culture is open, accepting and for the most part welcoming but you need to understand the way it works to become fully integrated.

It’s a place where you can connect with like minded individuals.

A place that everyone will use how they choose, to best suit their needs and desires.

No ones way is better than the other and no one should ever be judged, especially publicly, for how they use it

Pretty accurate really!

There's the theoretical concept (which seems to vary person to person), then there's the reality. Where the two don't meet and people's opposed perceptions is where the friction often arises.

A bit of understanding and acceptance would be a wonderful thing.
