What were you into at school ?

Music wise ?

I was a northern soul boy and it's still a huge part of my life where I still collect records and attend all nighters.

What was your music passion, were you a punk, mod etc and are you still into it now or was it a phase ?

Good man, it seems missing from schools these days with most being clones

We had mods, punks, heavy metal and lots of other groups.

I gravitated towards American pop/rock in the 80s, especially Bruce Hornsby & The Range and Huey Lewis & The News.

I liked bands - real people playing real instruments. Dance music left me cold. In that regard I haven't changed.

Definitely punk. I discovered music at school in 1976/77 and lived in London. Punk was massive. Got sent home one day for wearing bondage trousers. Didn't realise then that bondage would be a big part of my life later lol x

Dunboyne & Dublin

A head banger! Ever since I heard Deep Purple - Deepest Purple around the age of 12.

AC/DC then became my passion. Went through major music discovery but highlights would have to be Metallica, Pearl Jam, Kyuss, The Black Crowes, then maturing into The Frames, Glen Hansard, Paul Weller, Jools Holland, Mick Flannery, Florence, Rudimental and too many more to mention.

Music is definitely a gift from somewhere

I was a Take That fan.

Back in the day when you would record songs off the top 40 on the radio and try not to get Dr Fox talking over the end!

My dad was a queen, stones and Beatles fan so I did get some culture too

I used to steal my dads top shelf mags. Initially I, or my brothers, would "borrow" them and be very careful to put them back EXACTLY where we found them. Eventually I started nicking them knowing full well that he wasnt going to say anything.

Forgot about Jarre! Ive got quite some on vinyl. He beat Wham to their claim of being the first western pop band to play in China. He played years before and Oxygene had been in the charts. So hes a pop star!

I was introduced to him by a mate, MTV showed the Rendezvous Houston concert. I was hooked after that, he made most music fade into obscurity.

I love the Concerts in China album. You can hear the audience getting into it, start clapping along then they peter out when the guards give them a funny look.
