Somewhere In The Ether…

Describe something in life that has not been given an actual name.

By way of example: You know that weird feeling of almost leaving the body you get when you drive over a hill in the road in your car?

You get the idea, right?

Over to you then

This one has a name in French but not English and I think we need one.

L’ESPRIT DE L’ESCALIER: the witty retort you should have made but didn't come up with until it was too late.

I like that one - we definitely need an English equivalent

The specific sensation of releasing a pent up pee. One of the best feelings known to humankind, but if it has a name, I don't know it

Less fortuitously however is the converse feeling of abject dismay when one suddenly realises that on this occasion, one has indeed, NOT gotten away with it.....

Somewhere In The Ether…

Another all too common one: When one decides upon a spot of jolly old skydiving when, mid-descent, it dawns upon you that you have in fact, inadvertently forgotten to pack your parachute.

‘Disappointment’ hardly seems to cover it.....

I have the opposite, I bloody hope I'm dreaming that! 3 years later I still have horrors of unfinished essays

That'd be what happened initially but this is when you then think of what you should have said at the time. I don't speak French so I'm relying on stuff I've read but apparently it means something like spirit of the staircase, so you're already halfway out before you think of a comeback. I like it!
