its not pills you take constantly, you just take them each day in the couple of days you are due, and then stop when you arent 'busy' and you cum on within the next couple of days.

The most widely used implants in the UK only last 3 years, so yours will likely have run out of hormone.... besides, they say they are not reliable in the last year for overweight women as the hormone often runs out quicker.

If it has moved they just do an ultrasound to find it and take it out.... unless you have the lastest version which shows up on x-ray... but they didn't start using these ones widely until about 2 years ago.

Just want to point out before everyone starts rushing off to have the mirena coil fitted, it does not ALWAYS stop persiods.

i am on my third one no, the first time it stopped me persiods completely, however the last 2 have left me with lighter but still definately there periods.

i have a frind on it too who still has periods.

saying that, its still a great form of both control as i totally forgt about it appart from getting it checked once a year, so am not complaining.

I think this is what I'm getting next month I think.

The quack said it 'might' stop bleeding, but will certainly stop them being so damned heavy, so, be nice if they stopped but after years of stupidly bad ones just to lessen them will be great

I'm the same - 1st one after 3 months of heavy, went to nothing apart from the odd one, accidentally had it in for 8 years (thought it was the other one which lasts 10 years which I'd had previously ) this time I was bad for nearly 6 months have had it in for nearly 15 months now and it's only just slowing down. but better than before when I was every 2 weeks! Every person is different to how they react to the different methods - may take a while to find the right one - probably by which time I will have gone through the change lol

thanks just written that down and will ask my GP about it. Its only a delay i'm after for a short term fix until some proper contraception is in place. I know it can take anything up to 6 months for things to become effective and settle down.

to be able to use those tablets you need to be regular enough to know when your next period is due as you have to start 3 day before your due date but to be honest i have just taken them if we have had a weekend away and i thought my period may put in an appearance, as in my boobs are hurting so its gotta be close, and they worked a treat but they are no good if you have already started bleeding
