Derry

I notice lots of people state one line messages get deleted and the sender is blocked.

Is writing long paragraphs of bull shit really going to make any difference??

Its the messanger i would be interested in not the actual message.

I think a one liner for the 1st message to get the persons attention is fine although if the replies are all one word or one line its time for delete.

Long messages, unless they're personalised, always scream "copy and paste" to me. Not a fan of them.

Would much prefer a one liner taking the piss out of me or something, at least then I'd know we're on the same page

I agree, you should obv make it personal (no one likes obvious copy/paste messages) but there’s surely no point taking loads of time/effort to write a first message to someone when you might not be their type at.

On a mooch

It really does depend on the one line.... sometimes just reading the first preview before opening the message is enough to hit the delete button

If all a guy can be bothered to send is "hi how are you" or "what you up to?"

I don't tend to reply. Get loads like this every day!

I prefer a message to be straight and to the point.

No time to read reams of bullshit, besides, like many others we look at the profile before deciding whether the message is worth opening or not

so near and yet so far....

I’ve been positive in my response to messages, most men seem concerned about my health, asking are you ok EVERY day... so I messaged them to say I’m happy to chat but give me something to chat about.. nope, he’s still asking about my health

Another chap did take my suggestions and we had a great bit of banter..

The best way to start a message is saying "Free holiday to barbados"

Had that,more than once

didn't open the message, looked at the profile, knew it wasn't for us and deleted

I'm sure we are not the only ones to get such messages and deal with them the same way.

I think there should be a happy medium with messages....I had one this morning and it was like reading a book and I got bored half way through it and forgot what the start of the message said....Then I another about a hour ago saying F*CK NOW....instant delete....Just keep it normal and medium lol x

Agreed a one line message is absolutely fine for first contact, it's when you come to the realization that's all your going to receive from the sender,to every message you send it becomes a problem, and again agreed a wall of text which is clearly copy and paste with our user name inserted, is also disappointing

Hey welcome to fab
