I’m intrigued by a recent thought I have and wondered what other people’s thoughts are

I get messages off guys who are incredibly hot and to be honest it puts me off a little.

I know in a bar that guy wouldn’t come up to me, he’d be too interested in the size 10 blonde stood at the bar (and this is no dig, I’d be perving her too!!!)

If the guy wouldn’t be interested in a more social setting surrounded by his friends, why is he all of a sudden interested on here. More importantly why should I then be interested in someone that wouldn’t look twice when his friends are present.

Alright this won’t always be the case, but some people just fancy people that they fancy. There isn’t a manual somewhere that says that buff guys must only be interested in buff women, or vice versa.

Basically your issue is that they are only interested for one reason, so really it depends on whether you want to feel more than just a temporary object for them to get their kicks. If it does enough for you then fine, but if you want to feel they are drawn to you then that's not enough. You may not want to feel used, though you could flip that on its head and see yourself as using a fit guy that perhaps you don't think you'd get otherwise.

Of course there is the possibility that the fit guy thinks you are drop dead gorgeous and prefer curvier ladies

It’s a good point well made. But let’s face it if he’s chatting to me in a bar he probably only wants one thing anyway. And I’m not a prude and there’s a good chance he’ll get that one thing. But I just feel he wants to fuck hotter women when out and about, but on here any hole is a goal

Depends on whether the Adonis is shallow or not to be honest. I take people at face value and there are some people that are not "stunners" but have a lot more going for them than some empty headed stunners.

I'm no model but I get a lot of interest on and off the site (not being big headed here just honest) and when we have a conversation the first thing they say they noticed is my confidence and smile. I find many people who are beautiful in the classic sense, less attractive than people who might have more interesting or unusual features but also a lusty twinkle in the eye. I guess its social norms. The current acceptable body type for women is apparently skinny, big tits. But in reality I think most men find a whole host of different people attractive, just society tells them to chase the socially acceptable types. A but stupid really but I'm sure that's what it is.

I don’t know as size/looks have much to do with it on here. I’ve been approached by men I never thought would be interested in me and they’re what I class as hot. Attraction is based on lots more than an initial glance and personality plays a big part. Well I hope that’s what they find attractive about me x

I dont have a type, there isn't a particular look that I am attracted to and dont deviate from. Every single woman is differnt and what I like about woman A I might dislike about woman B. As long as I can make a connection with a woman on here then I'm interested no matter what she looks like.

The ratios probably do have some say in this. But....

It does happen regarding attraction, people can't help what they find sexy as hell. There's loads of couples on here where the woman is substantially more "attractive in a generally thought of way" than the guy, the same as at clubs. There will also be couples where the reverse is true.

It's also a fact that when someone just "gets you" and all that goes on between your ears that they become much more attractive because of this? Beauty is more than skin deep.

Op, have you considered the possibility that they are genuinely interested and find you attractive? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and attraction often works in ways we wouldn't normally consider. Before joining fab, i'd likely only be interested in that size 10 blonde you mentioned. Most likely a fake profile, there will be one or two guys here that are incredibly hot/good looking, they might have a body to die for, and I say good luck to them!!! But yes you get lots of body pics where they look great then the face is like omg!!! I ve seen it!! But ppl here are right, body face etc is all very nice but can they hold a conversation? Generally I came to the conclusion that I do not want to be with a size 10 and therefore never approach such females.

The reason is fairly simple a size 10 barbie doll or similar is likely to be shallow, self centred and gets lots of attention, I'm not stereotyping as not everyone is likely to be this we are all unique.

A woman with curves is just plain sexy, it has nothing to do with notches on bed posts or with trophy girls for the mates to witness, online is out of sight from judgementalists and no matter what there is your personality would shine through from a message or two.

There is a big difference between a bar and fab.

In a bar then you are primarily working on visual assessment carried out in a few seconds and so the brain is working just on that (sometimes scent and sound of voice as well). It will make instant decisions and probably graduate towards a "norm" from society.

On fab you have far more information and time to gain an impression of someone. There are still the pictures for the visual assessment, but depending on the profile many more outfits or angles or whatever to see. But there are then the words written on the profile or in forums or chatrooms. These details can slowly be put together to gain a fuller idea of the person and their personality and thus for an attraction to be formed.

There's a lot of truth in this. Generally either gender can ask these questions;

Do I find their face attractive?

Do I find their body appealing?

Are they approachable and friendly?

Do they possess some intellect?

Do they have the same interests as me, mainly sexual?

Are they clued up (know their way around the opposite sexes body, know how the opposite sexes mind works and how to coax it for the greatest pleasure possible)?

Are they unselfish in bed and will be more focussed on my pleasure than their own?

Do they present themselves well, eg, confident, dressed well, etc?

Do they have a good standard of personal hygiene?

And sometimes, for a few of the more competitive types or those seeking validation of their own opinions from their peers; Are they very sought after sexually by members of my own gender?

Ten questions, basically. For the average woman to consider sleeping with a guy she just meets in the real world you're probably looking at a minimum of 8 of those boxes ticked or perhaps 7 out of 10 correct answers when she's pissed. With the ratios on Fab it's more often 1 more answer on top of that due to a plentiful supply, so women want a minimum of 9 out of 10 normally. Some women will settle for nothing less than 10, but will usually bemoan the fact that there's not many blokes they now consider suitable.

For the average man on the street, he'd want 4 or 5 of those requirements met to consider sleeping with a woman. Definitely 4 when highly inebriated! AND with the ratios on here skewed the other way, the no frills bog standard bloke is going to sleep with a woman who satisfies 4 out of the 10 or 3 if it's a saturday night and he's home from the boozer!

It's also worth noting that some requirements are obviously more important than others to different people? This can vary massively. And remember, these are only the "average" men and women. Lots fall either side of that average.

And of course the satisfaction of each requirement has different standards or levels individual to those judging them just to confuse things further!
