Cardiff

Was working as a PA for large healthcare firm at the time, we had many staff there for a conference, it was a harrowing 24 hrs trying to contact them and their families and then days trying to get them back home, back in the day of Nokia bricks!

So I will remember that pretty clearly too.

I couldn't believe my eyes and to some extent I still don't.

It changed the world we live in and how we travel. May it never happen again.

Wow, it doesn't seem that long ago at all. I was so shocked by it, I jacked my job in (FTSE company) with nothing to replace it, to escape the 'wtf are we all doing!?' reality of our existence.

Still without words.

It was. I lived and worked in the city, maybe a 15/20 minute walk from there. I’ll always remember the smell that lingered for weeks after, a constant reminder. Horrible times.

RIP.

Was the worst thing ever. My dad luckily had a back ache and left NYC for Connecticut the night before, my aunt had to bring children home from school with her who’s parents didn’t show up. The world stopped there and I know too many who lost someone. Still heartbreaking. - Mrs

Scary times, those who were in NY ( and around) felt it differently, it was a massive group loss and community of pain and love. I lived in MA at the time, where the planes left from. I’m from CT near NY.

Actually, you've got a point. That is new.

Tbh we have a constitutional crisis going on, the B word and the "Troubles" (only in this country could an armed conflict be called that) rearing their head again. So maybe its lower priority this year....

I went to CT many times when I lived in NY.

It literally changed everything from that day. People changed, I could see that every day at work.

Been to both the old and new memorial exhibitions. The new one is one of the most upsetting experiences I've had while being totally compelling. If you're in NYC, allow time to really take it all in.

Unfortunately I was working in a population that cheered and celebrated as the towers collapsed.

Truly upsetting seeing people applauding such horrific events.

That must have been hard I'm not sure I could have continued to work there.

I worked nights and watched in on the tv when I got home. I couldn't believe what was unfolding before my eyes - the planes hitting the towers, the reports of planes being hijacked and crashing in other places, people actually jumping out of the towers and then the towers collapsing, knowing that so many people were still stuck inside. It just seemed so incredible. It's the most horrendous and heart-breaking thing I've ever seen. How humans could do that to other humans I'll never understand

same here but since then am more convinced that it was done by the bush administration
