Photo verification.

What do people think about the following.

Should photo verification be mandatory on fab, if you want to be actually visible to other people and be able to message them?

This would remove an awful lot of fake profiles and dreamers.

Would there be any downsides or impacts to this?

And discuss...

I personally wouldn't be very happy if they made it mandatory, I've done perfectly fine without ever being photo verified. There are timewasters and dreamers that are photo verified, making it mandatory won't change that.

.....think this is a good point to be fair, even with photo verification, you will always probably still get the fakes and dreamers that get past it....

....so in theory, it sounds good to make everyone photo verified....but in reality it probably wouldn't change a great deal....the fakes will still find a way....

I personally think everyone should be photo verified to join this site. You don’t have to do a face one. Think it would deter a few. Other sites I have joined have either charged a fee and full length pics etc or Facebook to verify yourself. I think fab should make it stricter to join up.

Don’t you think there are very few fake profiles on here compared to normal dating sites where almost every third person is a fake account?

A few are clearly scammers but overall most profiles seem legit.

I don't think it would deter enough to be worth it, I think it would put far more members off.

How about just a toggle to only make your profile visable to verified users? There's already a message filter for it but some people we know would like that extra layer privacy, however ineffective it may be.

The current message filter counts either as verified. Personally we'd like differentiate. You can easily fake a photo verification image. Have an option like "Only verified (any) can see/message me" and "Only verified (by meet) can see/message me".

Agreed, I put far more stock in multiple meet verifications than one photo verification, in fact, I never check if someone is photo verified.

It won't achieve anything, I'm well verified from actually meeting people which holds alot more stock for me personally. Photo verifications can be easily faked. I don't understand people's obsession with photo verification.

It would probably make it worse, the fakers would find a way plus new people to the site may not feel comfortable with sharing pics of themselves straight away.

If pv was compulsory, we wouldn't be here and pretty sure we wouldn't be the only 1's

You don’t have to show your face though. The other site I use charges a joining fee which I think encourages genuine serious swingers and deters the time wasters. You also have to verify by two pics. I think it’s far too easy to join fab and leave and come back again when you feel like it. Especially the horny guys just joining for the weekend.

Never been photo verified, we guess we must be fake, seriously, maybe a automated photo verification request to all new profiles after 1 month on the site if they don’t have a meet verification, probably an easy algorithm to set up x

I didn’t say it would. I just wish fab had stricter joining criteria. Maybe a fee or something like other sites to verify yourself. It really does put people off. I went to join another site and because of joining criteria I put off a little while. I think the serious people don’t mind doing that. I joined KK and had to be photo verified and pay a fee. They brought in the fee after many multiple fake profiles were made when it was free.

Ok, the ones in London all require to apply online to get approved. It’s what I’m used to and prefer that they have stricter rules. You then need to take a utility bill with address and passport on first visit to prove it’s you.

Lol, the real red flag for us would be no meet verifications after people have been on a while, they ain’t swinging.....

I’m seeing a guy that’s been on here over a year and had no veris. He had met people but didn’t want them. I’m not a fan either but I have them from social events where people sent them anyway. I don’t have them for sexual meets. No veris doesn’t mean someone hasn’t met.

Same as being photo verified doesn't mean someone is genuine.

There are plenty of serious people here that do mind it though.

Do you go to clubs? You usually have to be photo verified to get membership there. Is that something people wouldn’t do either?

Im a member at 3 clubs, all of which have seen my passport.

Ok, the ones in London all require to apply online to get approved. It’s what I’m used to and prefer that they have stricter rules. You then need to take a utility bill with address and passport on first visit to prove it’s you.

Chams have you take two forms of ID for membership, photo ID and a bill of some kind."

You have to apply online with pics etc down here. It takes a few days to get accepted.

"I’ve never understood why people refuse to have a green flag verification?! It raises a red flag to us. Yeah, we’re gonna miss out on some ‘lovely’ people but hey, we’re in no desperate rush.

Ah, most clubs round here let couples and single females sign up on the door, single men usually have to apply online.

"I'm verified by meets with different guys over the years.

I should be genuine.

Right?

Nah...never!! Ha"

Shhhh.. Do I also need to give my real name? I quite like being Jessie from the block

"This site is probably the least trustworthy one I know but that’s because of the easy and free access to it. People come and go easily. "

I think you're right.

The sites that I know where you pay are usually full of fake 'female' profiles made by the site to entice men to pay up though. Or the men are even more pushy because they paid their fee and expect meets for their money.

I don't know what the answer is.

A red flag in what way though? What's with the use of the word lovely in quotation marks?"

A red flag as in it’s such an easy thing to do and yet choose not to, what harm can it do?

The ‘lovely’ I must admit was sarcasm. Have come across quite a few non photo verified couples that ended up clearly being a desperate single male. Hence why we love to see green flags. I completely understand everyone has different filters but that is definitely ours.

Filters are fine. There are probably thousands of completely genuine people that aren't photo verified, that doesn't make us fake or anything else.

Guess it comes down to supply and demand, all the time the fakes are getting their kicks, they will still be here.

I'm not photo verified. I don't think it should ever be mandatory. I like to make my own choices
