Why is it that guys dislike someone taller than them and like someone smaller than them, but women like someome taller than them and and dislike someone smaller than them?

Obviously this is not everyone as there is always an exception to the rule but this seems to be the general consensus.

Thoughts?

I'd prefer to be taller then the Woman I'm with and to simplify it,

It makes me feel/look more manly and the sex is usually better for me, It can feel slightly awkward if she is taller/bigger in build

That might be the top of the bell curve but there's enough of as at the sides to make enough variety to go round I think.

I'd love to meet a woman taller than me. Unlikely though...

Because we like to look down on people, and short people are easier to look down on.

One of ma Aunties was about 6' and ma Uncle was 5'2". They looked quite comical when they were walking down the street together, especially when she was wearing heels

Probably down to genetics passed from our pre-human ancestors. Females would have gone for the strongest male who could provide them with babies and food. A taller male then was probably more likely to be stronger and faster.

Men typically are taller, so it's a reasonable choice - who likes making hard work for themselves?

Sometimes those small guys are great, they can seem cute, almost like having a pet monkey
