I'd have baked a cake! Or three. A lemon drizzle, a carrot cake and a clafoutis.

But it's OK, it's not too late, the oven is still hot. Apron is still on, so go on then, I'll bake you a cake!

What do you fancy?

Red velvet please. But only if you're going to do it well. I had a crumbly dry red velvet cake the other week and that was disappointing.

If your oven's on anyway, I'd much rather have something savoury to be honest.

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

My bamd-mates always set me a baking task for a rehearsal session. Today, I had to take in a Lemon Drizzle cake. I made it yesterday, but with a twist. I made it as a sandwich cake, with lemon buttercream filling and I added home-made lemon curd to the cake batter. I made the lemon curd on Tuesday.

Last week's cake was red velvet, and the previous week's was carrot cake.

No dry, crumbly cakes here. All mine are nice and moist!

I've been tasked with cheesecake next time, so have found two recipes that are challenging to make but will look stunning. Just deciding on which one to make!

"I made an awesome gin drizzle cake once

Think I found it online, includes gin and tonic in the actual cake. Getting the drizzle part right is tricky cos the alcohol means it doesn't go quite as crunchy. Decorated with gin soaked juniper berries.

I may have used more gin than the recipe said.

Everyone went "where's the gin, oh THERE it is"

"I made an awesome gin drizzle cake once

Oooooh, tell me more!!

Think I found it online, includes gin and tonic in the actual cake. Getting the drizzle part right is tricky cos the alcohol means it doesn't go quite as crunchy. Decorated with gin soaked juniper berries.

I may have used more gin than the recipe said.

Everyone went "where's the gin, oh THERE it is" "

Sounds perfect!
