Would you use an automated response option, if it was available here? Would you vary yours by gender?

You could perhaps send or not, depending on how well the sender fits some criteria.

If I /we don't reply, it's partly due to the bulging sack, of my mail, so if you hear nothing, somebody else will be servicing our needs.

Consider others instead, even though we understand your interest in our world class offer

No I don't really see the point, at least if I don't reply they don't get the excitement of receiving a message then disappointment it's a rejection.
