It may be a lack of mojo at the moment but I do find from time to time I just can't bring myself to.message anyone new.

Partly it is because I know I'm not going to be available as often as I'd like. Partly because I feel it isn't going to lead anywhere...

I have given up trying to meet locally (Belfast) as the ladies prefer a certain type of chap which I'm not.

Anyone else find themselves in that position and how do you snap out of it?

I'm in the same boat in the same sea(Belfast) dude. I just keep plugging away, sending messages out to those that take mu fancy. Not much ever comes of a message but I'm not ready to give up just yet.

I think it could be a Northern Ireland problem in general. No luck for years Ballymena way I gave up trying.

Yeah I’ve got to the point where I don’t bother because I think, what’s the point? Either a refusal or far more likely no response at all. I’ve been active in the forums lately but it feels like the regulars only talk to each other.

I think I've got a bit if a complex about it now as there are others I see flirt on the forums and it just looks predatory to me. I never wanna be like that or thought of in that way so I think a wall has gone up in my head.

I'm also lacking mojo which won't help.

I've found that deliberately "hunting" people out to meet doesn't work for me - just feel awkward and clinical and discovered that fairly early on in my Fab life.

Much prefer it when a conversation sparks naturally and develops organically and we find a connection and chemistry as we go along rather than trying to force it - it usually leads to far more satisfying encounters that way too.

Now obviously that conversation has to spark somehow in the first place, which is where the forums come in - they're a great way to get to know people in an unpressured environment if you approach them right.

Works for me anyway and have met some lovely people as a result - obviously means you have to look further afield than your immediate geography but that's not an issue for me at all.

I would echo all the go out there and smile at 'real' people

I have no energy to chat on here at all really as I know it wont go anywhere but I can muster up enthusiasm to smile at people around and about. When you get a smile back that feels nice. So much easier and fulfilling than waiting for your messages to get read

I think, going by how my posts are received on the forum, our humour and way of doing things is a little differnt from yours. Plus living in "our wee country" most likely makes some a little small minded. Couple that with some who are still intent on maintaining the religious divide and I can see how things like that would be off putting to people not from NI.

I'm not sure what exactly puts you off the place bit I would hope it changes as does your mindset, or that you get to move away again before long

Over here its a tough crowd.

The North East (from my experience) is a lot more open and sharing when it comes to swinging and seems better at getting their heads around recreational casual sex.

That said, I've enjoyed coffee with some lovely ladies over here.
