On chips out of the two would be mayonnaise.

But for some reason I can only eat red sauce on a sausages that I have dipped in it.

That sounded much more normal in my head and then I remembered where I'm posting.

Depends....always used to be ketchup no question

These days though:

With a burger or steak etc - mayo

With fish and chips - tartare sauce

Will still occasionally have ketchup with either on a whim but it's rare

Mayo is an American abomination imported here, that should've stayed over in the States!

Alternatively, if in Hull or East Riding chips go best with Chip Spice .. Yummy!
