Are you happy with your profile text?

Having finally redone mine, and considering how much harder it was than anticipated, got me thinking.

Are you happy with your profile write up? Do you find it properly conveys who you are and what you're looking for? Do you find it's an enjoyable read or a bit of a chore? Did you endlessly slave away at it through countless rewrites or just belted it out spontaneously? Would you change anything, and if so, what? Share your thoughts

I'm happy with my profile text.

I find that the trick is to update and refresh it from time to time.

Never thought of copying the link for the stories, great idea I've written a few and wondered how to make note of them.

I change mine everynow and than. Never know if it too long or too demanding lol

I’d really like to change it back to some sort of nonsensical gibberish or ever changing song lyrics.

Thing is though, since it’s been more to the point we don’t tend to get so many messages from the unsuitables and we’ve actually made some great connections with our target audience.

Plus Lacey says I can’t

I know mine is ranty but it's just how this place has made me feel so that's why I wrote it. I've been on here over 5 yrs and changed it many times. In my experience though, I could write anything bullshit, nice, sarcastic, witty, whatever, it makes no difference to the amount of dicks that land in my box daily. Most people don't read, some do, but really it's a pointless exercise and not a barrel of laughs justifying my preferences all the time.

"Some interesting responses so far. Given the content of some, do you feel having a well written profile is more of a pointless exercise from a lady's perspective?

Actually I think it's just as important from a lady's perspective as it is from a man's - not only because I am more drawn to a profile that interests and intrigues me but because I sometimes think some of the more ranty "do this, don't do that" ladies profiles can actually have the opposite effect to what they are trying to achieve.

I understand why they get like that but the type of guy that is likely to send poorly written or explicitly rude messages is also the type of guy unlikely to either read or take notice of a profile text asking them not to do things - so the guys they tend to deflect and deter by writing ranty profiles are often going to be the ones they are trying to attract in the first place and so the vicious circle continues.

So yes a well written positive profile is just as important, if not more important, for a lady as it is for a guy

I've left it alone for a couple of years now.

If people read it goody gumdrops. If they don't, meh.

I doubt I'll change the text again, although I do add pics now and again and change the existing ones around a bit.

It's a single blokes profile, women don't view it, blokes who want suck my cock don't read it.

What's the point?

"

How do you know women don't view it? 90-95% of them stealth view anyway.

In my opinion it isn't and I enjoy reading a good profile."

It's so hard to know and it's so easy to fall into the mindset of "oh ffs..." given the amount of times I'm left thinking it.

I think its harder for guys to match what the ladies are looking for or to just stand out that they need to be very appealing with their profiles. Ladies just have to say "come get me" and the average fab bloke will be all over it like a rash

Too many on here are fixated with text and pictures on profile and don't get involved with any kind of conversation when they can get to know more about the real person.

The term 'sell yourself', it's a shop window has been used in the past but not all of us aspire to be shopkeepers or have marketing credentials.

My profile is to the point and says let's find out a bit about each other and see if it can lead to a real meet and the added bonus of some adult fun. Thats how I read mine.

I wont say I am completely happy with my profile.

As a single guy I don't experience the frustrations of women or couples re useless messages from ppl who clearly haven't read all or even part of the text. That being said, surely it's always better to put effort into making your profile appealing and descriptive? Many won't read nor care for the text but some will. Odds are the ones who care and do would likely be more the type of people you're looking for?

And if that approach works for you, that is all that matters

The sell yourself thing is normally aimed at those who find their profile text/pics isn't working for them.

As for not getting involved in conversation - if you were presented with two profiles, one of which was one line long, had a single unimaginative pic and very little detail and one which was carefully considered and thought out, told you a little about the user and what they are looking for, along with several well taken pics - had nothing else to go on and could only converse with one of them - which would you choose? I know which I would

Share your thoughts "

I have found that it doesn't matter what the blurb may say. I have tired all sorts, well thought out, serious, descriptive, and had no vast improvement either way.

If they don't fancy you they won't message, simple. I try to focus on pictures now.

So as for the blurb, I went for something random, funny and different, like me

Happy with mine, but apparently nobody reads it. I still get dozens of meet requests daily and up to 200 a day if I upload a new photo.
