So the Mongolian Empire was always on the move. Men and women are slept and socialised on horseback.

They'd pack raw lamb in their saddle bags. The constant pummeling from continued travel turned the lamb steak into patties. The Mongols used to eat these raw, on forced long distance marches.

When they invaded Moscow. They passed on this 'meal' to the local Russians. Who added their own ingredients and named it "Steak Tartar" Named after the Tartar's, European name for the Mongolian invaders.

This in turn spread to Hamburg, Germany.. where some bright spark decided to fry it. Giving us the Fruchatella.. Or modern day hamburger.

That sounds much tastier than a burger.. read upwards.. Mongols are the lamb patties raw! They were a hardy bunch. In lean times or out on march.. they'd eat raw intestines.. unwashed! Just rolled up to squeeze the residue material out! Any animal was fair game.

Part of the reason they were so hardy.. Life on the Anarchic Steppe bred tough people.. the likes of which are no longer seen in this world.

Yeah but I reckon they were sneakier than that. Your idea was their hard man image but in reality a quick poke in the fire for delicious hot kebab

Should be a Lamburger not a hamburger! It's so misleading!

Try explaining what Peppa pig has at a bbq to a 6 year old, then getting into beefburger/ hamburger discussion!!

You can't set up a bbq whilst riding a horse.. I'm sure they tucked into a good hot shish kebab whenever they got the opportunity.

If they were in a rush...? Raw Lamb patties.. At the most lean or desperate times? Mares milk mixed with horse blood, siphoned straight from their mounts neck. Sealed and back on the saddle.
