My friends, who are all on Tinder, call this my 'dirty wee site'! But they're all meeting far more people than I am for the same thing! I just get to do better, more straightforward vetting I think. And don't have to pretend I want a boyfriend.

We're still a society that's got a religious bent, with sex being for within marriage, whilst we grow up expecting a Disney romance. Monogamy and long term partners is assumed as correct and 'normal', with deviants being the rest of us, who are probably devil worshipping too.

I'd speak individually with some people selectively but I generally just share experience/safety type stuff with close friends. I don't think you could easily educate people in a really brief chat - in part because fab and swinging, the peoples' within them needs - are really broad and complex.

I generally just let others know, if important, that I have an interesting and satisfying life, without sharing any other information at all.

Nobody knows we are on here but occasionally the subject of swinging will crop up at work or with friends. The general consensus is that it is dirty, depraved, those who do it are immoral etc etc.

It is so hard to keep quiet and not jump to the defence for fear of giving ourselves away. The irony is that if you have been to Newcastle (or any other major town) on a Saturday night there is far worse going on but this is laughter off and ignored.

We are all going to hell apparently, but at least we will have fun on the way there.

What I have experienced is after telling a friend of over 10 years that I swing and have a FWB, seems to be ignoring me since that conversation. Even though she has brought home strangers from a vanilla club whilst her children were upstairs. How is that better?

I think the media has a lot to answer for society’s perception on swinging.

I’ve spoken to a couple of my friends about some experiences I’ve had from here, and these two closest friends know I’m on here in particular, and their approach is ‘if you’re happy, I’m happy’. I don’t believe in monogamous committed relationships, and the idea of settling down to get married bores and frightens me in equal measure aha.

There are elements that are, indeed sleazy, but it's also possible to remain classy, it's all a choice.

I unwisely told a friend about some stuff I'd done & he gabbed to everyone he could. They were probably as shocked at the act as they were that it was their reserved good boy pal. One of the more open minded asked me about it with a slight air of 'what the fuck though' & I later found out another is super submissive/into really rough stuff, so I'm sure it's hiding in everyone.

I didn't mention fab though, so they thought it was through feeld or whiplr. Not sure they could handle finding out just yet.
