Somewhere near here

Rude.

It has a lot of purpose. It's where I was born and raised, where my oldest and closest friends live, and where my family. I have the bestest memories there. Its where i understood life and what it meant to live in a society. There's so much history, Havelock and Grim and the fishing industry to start with. Some beautiful buildings and places to go. The industries it serves today.

So yes, it does have a purpose to some even if it doesn't for you.

Although I don't live there anymore, it's still my home

"At least Hull was City of Culture in 2017!

But had been voted worst place to live/ worst town more years than not."

But, latest reviews in one particular site were just rehashed reviews of years ago.

Plus, you are incorrect. It WAS voted Worst Town to live in for a few years, but it's been off the No 1 spot for a number of years, now only appears in the Top 10 overall.

Hull is my home town, not born there but settled there in 1990 with my career and instantly saw what the city really had to offer. That view hasn't changed.

As a student in hull, I am personally quite fond of it. Biggest bonus is the community spirit, I've noticed how warm it is since the recent tragedy of a fellow student

That spirit also came into the forefront when a few years ago, a close friend and ex colleague was killed in a tragic road accident.

She was in charge of Hull Uni's Students Union; the whole University went into mourning and on the day of her funeral, it shut down entirely as a mark of respect.

There was no shortage of volunteers to cover the Bar, food service, vehicle marshalling for the 100's who attended a celebration of her life in the Students Uni Bar after her funeral.

Hull is like that

I was born there, and lived there on and off through my life. Most family still live there. I’m qualified to have an opinion on its utter shittiness too. Glad it suits you, not for me.
