"Whatever FWB agree are the rules, no?"

This.

They will be different for each fwb couple.

Hiding in the shadows

"What are the rules for fwb"

Just like everything

It depends on the people involved and how they want things to be done

No one size fits all rule book

Depends on what they agree on, for me and my fwb its keeping the fun just between us no meeting others.. i suppose its like a relationship without the complications of day to day life

Had nothing but fwbs for 26 years and never had rules but suppose mine are based on FRIENDS as opposed to the benefits! Always think a fab fwb should be called a bwf instead!

Women think:

friends, chatting, nights out, sex, but no relationship shit like ironing their socks. Lots of fun and sex.

Men think:

Fuck her when I'm horny. Ignore her till I'm horny again.

My FWB calls me every couple of months for exactly that!!!

I get ignored until sex wants sex then she calls!!

Cant resist running straight round to her

It's totally individual. The only rules me and my fwb have are to keep in contact - we talk everyday which is something we both enjoy. If we have a meet planned tell each other so we don't have to find out through verification and also so we know not to bother each other. Prioritise each other above other meets. And play safe with all others. Be honest with each other about everything.

Not keen on rules persay but those keep is ticking along nicely

Yes it does. I've had a couple of conversations similar to this recently with my dear friends. We do love each other. It's not a let's run down the aisle with each other sort of love but there's genuine care and affection and respect there - love. I think love conjures up this outdated Hollywoodised societal notion of what it is and people more often than not actively avoid it on the scene. Which is fair enough but love comes in many guises.

This is a tricky one.

We don’t rub each other’s noses in it if we see someone else but when we meet up we will say “I’ve a story for you”. We then tell an “approximate” version of what happened. No first names. No nuts and bolts just an outline.

Personally I don’t want to know anymore than that. We are being as honest as we can with one another.

It seems to be working.

This works for me and my FWB too. It’s a great balance, not restrictive but honest and fair .

"Don't fall in love"

I broke this one. Then I got told we will never have the kind of relationship which I want, then few months later he said he wants me and we've been together for almost 2 years now

Only one rule.

1. Be honest.

If your feelings are changing..

- Physical attraction fading/growing?

Just Wo-Man up and own it, may save a genuine friendship and avoid hurting your friends feelings too badly.

On a mooch

Honesty from the outset, what you both want. I make it quite clear when we are together it’s our time, outside of that I will actively talk to and see others.

Those I trust I also tell when I’m meeting others and likewise the other way and wish them a fun filled naughty time.

You can be friends and have daily comms without getting all fluffy and attached.

Of course feelings are there, it’s natural to have feelings for friends and care about them. If you find one of you seems to be indicating to more than friends, it’s time for another honest chat, which may not go as that person wishes.

Frank honesty only way to be !
