..snagged from another thread where i made a playful swipe at someone..

I actually do get the lack of interest in some popular mainstream entertainment/media.

With me its telly..drifted away from it years ago. TV sets not tuned, i only watch DVD's on it. What else..Playstation 1, is as far as i got, video/PC gaming i couldn't give a toss about..'Twittering'? Don't give a funk about that either..

..probably loads more stuff others are into that i'm not...but a lack of love in music??

i dont have a passion for music, i like it and i listen to whatever is on the radio

i dont have an ipod or a brilliant mp3 player, think the last cd i bought was Beyonces latest album, can think of ones i want to download but never get down to it lol

i dont follow a particular bands of pay over the odds to go see them in concert etc

I use FB and play a few daft games on it...

Music? I can go weeks months not listening to any....

Have recently worked my through every Raymond Feist book because above anything else.....I love reading in peace and quiet

I am a drummer in a rock/metal band so I love music. Have played live music since the age of 14yrs old and have played in many differnt styles of bands. So I guess its fair to say that I love music yeah man

Music has always been important to me.

I play a few different instruments and listen to all kinds of music.

I find it empowering, emotional, motivational and an escape at times.

Music has moved nations.

Music makes a good film better.

Music can help heal.

It is a wonderful gift to share

I'm not a huge music fan anymore. Don't get me wrong i appreciate a good tune and love going to festivals but gone are the days that I can remember who does what. I think have teenage kids has ruined my love of music lol, so busy am I telling them to turn it down and feeling the relief when it gets switched off. I'd so much rather just sit in complete silence, no tv, no music, just a good book in my lap.

Love all sorts of music, especially club and modern stuff.

Last couple of concerts I went to were Pendulum, awasom and came out with my ears ringing and last night I took my 15 year old daughter to see JLS and they were brill.

Couldn't live without music

I don't watch much TV at all, apart from the News channels and the occasional Documentary and Music channels....if a film is on I particularly want to see at some point I will SKY plus it...

We have TV's and SKY in every room in the house....but it's music for me everytime.

I could NEVER be without access to music.

have tv on in the background, but there are very few programs i actually 'watch'.

havent really 'listened' to music for many years (probably mid to late 90's) and have no interest in modern 'chart' music.

only know whats at number 1 cuz its banged all over radio 1 when i listen to Moyles in the morning. but music to me is jsut a background. i work nights and listen to 5live chat shows more, prefere discussion rather than rbbish music now, just a sign im getting on i suppose lol

It can set the mood or change your mood.

I have a very wide variety of music in my collection... from punk to blues, from soul to indie.

I can't imagine doing the housework without my 'happy' playlist.

I'm going to generalise here. But does modern music these days all sound the same??

Everytime in my gym some nobhead 16 year old's always got Kiss, or some MTV type dross on, whacked up full blast so I get no choice but to here it, even through my iPod, and it's ALL dross!!

I like to feel my music is as diverse as a central line tube. I've got everything including classical, rock, metal and many sub genres, so I like to think I know a little of what I'm talking about. Seems these days music's taken such a nosedive in the last 10 or so years I can only see it getting worse. Money's everything, so long as that record deal's made and the big wig's take their cut we're never going to get out of the rut.

I prefer the unsigned shows on radio giving a band or artist 5 minutes air time. Trouble is they're always on at some stupid time.

Don't get me started on X Factor and now The Voice............ Rubbish!

there are lots of variety to it, but give me early 90's dance or 80's/90's rock and im more than happy.

havent bought a new release cd for over 10 years.

If I`m at work in my tractor then the radio is on all day. Once home it`s either telly or the computer and never have a radio on at all. I do have YouTube sessions on the computer watching stuff from my youth that you wouldn`t regularly hear on the radio.

There seems to be a lot of manufactured music these days similar to what Stock, Aiken and Waterman churned out in the 80's.

There are so many different kinds of music out there and people pick and choose what they listen to.

I'm not a big fan of the majority of new(ish) chart music but there are some little gems hidden amongst the usual stuff.

Next time you're at the gym put what music you want on and maybe you can open up a new avenue of music to the younger generations

I love music and I love supporting my local bands and going to gigs. My daughters school have been having artists come into school last week was Emile Sandes and she is a real cool chick. Plus I am so looking forward to the willow festival coming back to Peterborough for the first time in 5 years.

Love music, alsorts of stuff...half my family are in the industry, seen loads of bands live..

Music can be therapy for those who have lost the ability to communicate in other ways.

Music can lift the mood.

Music can celebrate the happy times and help you through the not so.

I would hate to live in a world without it.

As for modern music...ie the posters above comments, you just have to look a little harder to find the stuff that hasn't been over- produced and manufactured!

I will help you find it!

And what would we dance to ?
