"We went to a BBQ yesterday, invited via friends to a couple's home we had met previously. They had two small dogs - a Jack Russel and a small terrier thing . I'm not mad on dogs but both were friendly. The Jack was a mature bitch and had had a litter or two. It hung around us as we sat. The hostess talked to my wife and was clearly very tipsy. Eventually the two dogs scrapped and the hostess beat the Jack Russell thrice with her shoe. This annoyed another couple who left. The dog sought sanctuary with me and stayed with me for the rest of the evening. She justified that being from another country, dogs there are simply not treated kindly. The JR had drew blood from the other dog before apparently. Her house, her rules or our country, our rules? " It's in there nature, and tell her brexit, our country you live here your British if she can't handle then why move here.

"I’d have left. That’s the only way she would realise i didn’t find that acceptable. If the dogs are well looked after otherwise, have no visible injuries and if the incident wasn’t recorded at the time (by mobile etc.), i’m not sure what the RSPCA could do. As for the dog going to you after the event, A dog told off will go to another person and seek solace. She is obviously the “alpha” and the dog was reacting to being put in its place. By all means report it so it is on record, but i wouldn’t expect any action without proof."
