Does anyone else feel lonely in there life. I have family and friends but I still feel so alone. in the world its just hard to understand any feedback would be great x

No I cant say I do. I like my own company and need time on my own. I prefer to do stuff on my own . Shopping cinema eating out . Its all so much easier and I can please myself.

I know I am very lucky. I have kids and a small but very close family and some amazing friends on fab and in the vanilla world.

No I never get lonely, but I know a very many of you do, I find it hard to understand, why are you on fab are they looking for love its not that sort of site.

I spend a lot of my time alone, as I'm quite happy in my own company I find it ok. Was at a pub this afternoon enjoying the sun in their pub garden happily listening to my music and browsing the net on my phone.

However I can imagine if you've been surrounded by family and friends and suddenly it's taken away how terrible that loneliness could be.

I have times where I feel alone, but that's mainly because I don't like to burden others with the stuff going on in my head. So. I've learnt to enjoy my time that I have to myself as much as. I enjoy time with friends and family.

I see it more as my time to reset and get back to being me these days.

Yep I get lonely but have spent most of my life on my own so it's become normal now ,I have holidays alone spend all my time alone apart from when I'm at work , sad but true ,Christmas is the worse time

Real friends can be incredibly difficult to find. Family ?, yes distant by nature or simply too far away. Some folk are just damn lucky. So many are selfish and inconsiderate. Hang in there though, things usually change x

I used to then i really turned it around amd used it as am exercise to know who i am and what i like and don't like.im very at ease in my own company now. It was a long lesson but a good one x

I’m lucky in that I have lots of friends and also happy with my own company.

The only time I really feel it is when I like someone (in the real, not Fab, world) and it’s unrequited.

I feel like no one really knows me and that can lead to a sense of isolation

I also recognise that it is me that drives the isolation by not being 100% open with people

I'm more open with people here than I am with any family member, friend or colleague

I don't include them in a lot of my life because of my own fears of them not accepting me or them viewing me differently than they currently do

So, to a degree, it is the fear of not being accepted that drives the isolation

It becomes cyclical and the circle self feeds

It's a peculiar situation to be in

I also know there is only one way to break it

I think we all naturally long for a partner in life be it sexual or companionship its makes us complete, im a firm believer that were programmed to be that way its the 'ying yang' effect, we may be incompatible and inperfect on many platforms but work.

Hey sweetheart. Haven’t chatted for a while. I do believe being alone is healthy for us as if we can’t stand our own company, how can we expect others to?

Being lonely is a totally different ballgame. You’re in a unique situation being a TV, coming out, rediscovering who you really are and setting your new boundaries. In a way it must be liberating but oh, so exhausting too. Aren’t there any groups you can join as a spin-off from fab? I keep hearing about all these wonderful Kik groups? Don’t use them but would if I felt the need. Sending you hugs and energy

Yes I do OP sometimes it's crippling but most of the time I'm OK in my own company.

I have pushed most of my friends and family away and the few I have left are at a safe distance.

I did it to myself.

I think many things can make you lonely, but you need to work out why you are lonely, then you need to either come to a comfortable acceptance or make a change. many things come down to the choices we make too.

Loneliness can really effect you especially if it causes you to become isolated or depressed

People can find many parts of life lonely, losing partners, not finding the right friend group, family splitting up, parenting was a difficult one for me, kids filled my time but the ties were quite hard in the first few years

Every bad situation can be turned around, keeping active, spending time doing things you have always wanted to do, making new friends, do some volunteering helping others often helps ourself too

Also get help if it’s constantly bothering you, but first have a good think and make an action plan to change if you really can’t stand it

By the way you can do absolutely anything by yourself so don’t ever think being alone needs to stop you my work colleague has just built a house that’s just for him alone and he’s over the moon.

Others have successful businesses, you can focus better on things without distractions
