"I (Luke) used to be a firm believer and committed Christian from my teens to my early thirties when I started to have doubts. I have spent a number of years looking for evidence for the existence of a god. I have read books and articles and watched debates and videos. My conclusion is that I have never found any evidence (let alone proof) that a god exists. Until I get some I remain unconvinced there is one and live my life as if there is no god. I sure do get a lot more sex now I'm not beholden to somebody else's view of morality. " Most of us were believers. Brainwashed. Then when about 8 or 9 some begin to think....

"No, here's why.... If we loose a loved one religious types will assure us that it's all part of Gods plan, heaven is the prize that awaits those of us who've lived life by the rules. This gives comfort to believers who's nearest and dearest have gone before their time. My Dad was without doubt the kindest and most gentle of men yet he died a long and very painful death. My son has the kindest of hearts but is currently on a life support fighting for his life. Auschwitz, Aids, 911.... Is this the master plan of an all loving god? I think not. Your son is on life support so sorry to hear that." Who said he was supposed to be all loving? If he does exist, he's a vindictive blood-thirsty arsehole.

Missionaries passing them around? Catholic Church buying to put in schools? C of e? And then which version as not all “Christians” agree so....I do challenge the best selling as most bought by choice.....you know anyone who’s been to actually buy one???

My point is this.... Both Old Testament and New were written on the back of "word of mouth" fables at least 100's of years later. How can this accurately be relayed on as truth.... "Seems that it must be quite an issue for anyone here who believe in the Christian god. Leviticus 20:10 If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbour--both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death Leviticus 20:12 If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads. Leviticus 20:13 If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads Leviticus 20:18 If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people. " Cognitive dissonance is a hell of a trip.
