"something that I read today almost had me reaching out to PM a guy on a thread. My husband died of prostrate cancer so the issue is very close to my heart. Just putting it out there don't forget your health checks...stay safe live long and prosper x " Having a history of prostate cancer in the family I'm always conscious of getting my checks and lipids One of the reasons I support Orchid, the Male cancer trust, whenever I run a race/ take part in an event

"https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/prostate-cancer/psa-testing/ "There's currently no screening programme for prostate cancer in the UK. This is because it has not been proved that the benefits would outweigh the risks." Which goes to show that there SHOULD be more research done into finding a reliable diagnostic method for this cancer. " With no screening programmes it's even more important to be in tune with your body. My husbands initial symptom was the reduced amount of semen over time and when he went to the doctors they said it was his age. Then other symptoms came such as needing to wee more often during the night. By this time it had become so aggressive that nothing could be done. If caught early treatment can work really well.

"My dad died this way too. He had no symptoms apart from feeling a bit tired but when he got diagnosed through a routine blood test it was very advanced. Before this he was young, healthy and very active, did not drink, smoke and was not over weight. Alot of folk connect prostate cancer with older males but this is not the case." I am really sorry for the loss of your dad xxx

"Guys, please get checked...be persistant if the doctors are reluctant. " It's not always a case of the doctors being reluctant, depending on any symptoms, sometimes you need a second opinion. My mate, who is now no longer with us got misdiagnosed last year. I went to his funeral a couple of months ago
