Just wondering if any other ladies have the same issues as me

Since having the mirena coil fitted every 4 weeks I turn into a 14 year old, whinging, neurotic, almost psychotic bitch.

Does anyone else have this problem?

So far today I've cancelled a meet/social for Friday, told 2 people to leave me alone forever, gone back to bed twice and now feel shit.

How long have you had it in?

I've had a few and 1 just wasn't right.

It took weeks to settle down for me but then everything was fine until it was ready to come out

Terrible awful things those are, I lost my sex drive and piled on weight, then it flipped itself upside bloody down, had to go to hospital to have it removed . Mind you, that’s just my horror story

I've had it in over a year now and everything else is great (apart from the weight ) I didn't really have periods before which is why they put it in. I just want to smash stuff up haha

I daren’t take anything with hormones because I’m pretty sure I already have PMDD (like severe PMS)

I guess you have to weigh up whether for you it’s worth keeping it. Seeing the doctor is probably the best advice x

Glasgowish

It does not effect me this way. The only problem i have is sex can be painful with an above average male as it digs into me.

Bless you. I still get period/pregnancy symptoms and I've had a few mirenas.

It may possibly be something not right with it. Nip back to Dr you may need it changing

The chemical sheath is the same stuff as used in the depo injection and you sound like i was when i used that.

I went to the docs about it and they stopped my treatment immediately and put me back on the pill.

After i had my daughter i asked about a coil and I couldn't have the minerva due to this so have a standard copper coil now.

It's working fine. That's supposed to happen to put you on a level with the average adult male..

Manchester (she/her)

I'm more than halfway through my (first) Mirena's life. I had heavier bleeding and mood swings my first few cycles, but since then it's been a massive improvement (not as good as some will tell you, but my periods etc were a disaster zone, and they're now at the easier end of moderate/ manageable).

Talk to your doctor.

Oh, and I've not found any significant appetite/ weight issues with the Mirena, although I have other health conditions which make my picture more complicated.

I'm on my first coil which I had done in July, asked for the copper coil but they fitted the mirena coil instead.

Finding I'm having terrible mood swings and seem to be on a lot. Hoping it settles down.

I couldn’t use the mirena coil either because it turned me into a crazy b*tch. I got the jaydess coil instead and I haven’t looked back. I didn’t even know that there were different types until I chatted to my doc. The jaydess has a lower dose of hormones in it. It might be worth asking about.

I imagine my hormones are just really fucking pissed off mini versions of me swimming around causing chaos. Little buggers

I'm on my 2nd and no side effects thankfully. Sounds as though maybe it's worth speaking to dr and getting a change.
