"Hi all, Just wondering whether there's any fitness gurus that can recommend some good cardio workouts as I'm getting a little bored of the one I'm doing. Low impact please - I'm still pretty unfit and also live with other people who won't want to hear me jumping about. Thanks! X" Morning My general advice , it's not what cardio or foods you do or eat , it's the amount and consistency Truly I recommend walking , daily , as often as you can contrive it , not on a treadmill or in a gym , extra to a gym time The gym in your case should be used for short sessions of compound weight based exercises, not one of the rat wheels And diet needs to become consistent Walking 25 mins daily is soooooo much better than 1 hrs twice a week Forming a daily habit of movement with a slow and steady goal of increasing, time and effort ,walking just works so well Keep it simple and avoid machines unless the weather really means you can't walk outside You dont need gym gear you dont need to sweat , consistency is the absolute key , something you can do nigh on daily for months at a time Compliment this over time with perhaps a simple dance style class etc But always finish wanting more , if it was too long or too hard you WILL lose motivation , progress the intensity and distance gradually,

I really really hate walking around aimlessly lol I know I won't be able to keep to doing it daily.

If you think you can dance 7 times a week and find a class that starts very easy then if course I have never found walking aimless , so much to see so much to think about , surely in London you could find a shop about 15 mins away walk buy an apple walk back , think about , stuff When you say walking aimless I genuinely think you are vastly underestimating the immense power of walking daily , for exercise, state of mind , calmness , joint mobility muscle conditioning

I live right on the outskirts of London in the suburbs so it's not like being in Central where I can just get off a couple of tube stops early on my daily commute; everywhere for me is driving distance away. If I were to just take a lap of the neighbourhood everyday I know I'd very quickly get bored and give up which I don't want to happen yet again. Thank you for the advice but I think I'll stick to what I've been doing x

"Get an audio book or a podcast, particularly when the weather is good, and walk while you listen to that. It might be aimless but it's your "you time" while you learn about whatever your podcast is. " Surly a 20 min local walk daily , is better than a 20 min drive to a class daily ?
