So....am in the middle of a 2 week (almost) stay in very french France and conversation has not been easy! Lots of sign language and del boy esque pronunciations!

It's made me think of learning French when I get back.

What languages do you speak?

Portuguese (I need to practice!)

I used to know a bit of German, Italian and Spanish but French was always rather on the side of Martian.

English.

A few words in French.

I once knew a few words in Gaelic (or so I was advised). Then once I used them to insult a hotel guest (and thought I'd get away with it!).

Errr, I just happened to regrettably find a Scot, who spoke Gaelic. I didn't know what he said, but it didn't sound nice!!
