Ya know how it goes. They initiate conversation, flirt a little or alot. Then ghost you. Then weeks, days or even months later... Pings you "hi"... How do you respond?

You respond according to what you want.

If you feel they should have been a life long buddy to you and messaged you every day then maybe they are not for you.

If you accept that they had other things or people going on in their life and that you are just someone they were trying to get to know through this site BUT your still interested in them you say 'hi' back and take it from there.

I'm.terrible at times for responding to messages, I read them.put the phone down and get distracted. I don't see it as a huge issue when someone doesn't answer my message either. Only time it's a problem is if it's an important question.

What happened during this weeks, days or even months? Did you try to initiate contact yourself? By ghost you do you mean they didn’t get back to you?

I’m terrible for it, not done on purpose but because I genuinely do have a busy life and I forget to reply. It’s my best mates biggest complaint about me.

If it works the other way and I haven’t heard off anyone and they suddenly pop up I generally reply with hello, it’s only polite after all, unless they were a crap shag in which I will ignore.

I don't really think of this as ghosting in all honesty.

I'd agree with Crumpy, people have lives etc. The hi is a way of starting the conversation again, I'd much rather people got in touch when they wanted to say something rather than feeling socially obligated to talk about nothing so they tick the required level of communication.

If it’s been weeks just move on. Peoples lives do take them away from here also don’t forget the volume of messages some women and couples get on here could just have gotten lost

Some people are notoriously bad at replying, me included.

I've once replied to a friend on Facebook after a month I think. I don't use Facebook and dismissed the notification and simply forgot about it.

I also don't like texting in general. So usually have a few messages from different people all at once and it just makes me not want to pick up my phone.

If you really want to talk to someone, call.

We are definitely guilty of ghosting but it's not really on purpose tbh we get shit loads of mail and I lose track, sometimes I think you just can't win on this site, if you don't respond to everyone your ignoring them and if you try and lose track your ghosting

I don't get many messages at all, so it's not a problem for me to reply to them. Plus I feel awkward if I don't acknowledge them.

I'm not surprised women ghost with all the messages they're recieving. It just seems strange when they suggest meeting up and then ghost But I guess some of them are catfish.
