My mate runs Mad Day Out Taxi Tours up there. His mate painted a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in similar psychedelic colours as John's Phantom V Rolls and my mate does Beatles tours in it. Been on the Magical Mystery Tour once, was OK, I saw a lot more when I mapped out my own tour and used public transport.

I had to drive to Northampton and back today for work and had the album The City Sleeps by symphonic prog rockers Touchstone on repeat. Track 2, When Shadows Fall, is in my top 10 all time favourite album tracks.

(gets opinions out of bag)

...can the guy from the Lighthouse Family sing in tune yet?

Awaits chorus of disapproval (but at least it'll be a chorus that can harmonize).

Saying that I've just been listening to The Hold Steady's "Boys and Girls in America" again, and whilst Craig Finn is not technically the best singer in town his voice is just about perfect for that band, and it's at its best on this, what I still think is their best album.

Other opinions are out there,of course.

"Crowded House greatest hits in the car... "

I had "Recurring Dream" on,in my car today, too! That might be the same album. Hmm, coincidentally, also with a singer named Finn (two actually, including his brother on harmony) (see previous post).

Such a good band. "Distant Sun",in particular, takes me to pieces pretty much every time.

"The new Thom Yorke album Anima. It's a gurgling, beeping electronic mix of misery. I bloody well love it."

Now if be interested to hear that! In my opinion, Radiohead produced two of the best albums of that decade - of the 20th C. -, back to ruddy back.

"The Bends" and "OK Computer" are irrevocably implanted in my very DNA,and THAT'S a scientific fact.*

*not actually a scientific fact.
