Are people here finding that most people down south are very uncomfortable to chat or interact with people. Yet northern people are very approachable and open and love a bit of banter

Or just me ?

.

I'm a proper southerner complete with the accent but I'm a hoot to talk to. And very friendly. Clearly that makes your OP wrong.

Ppl are friendly in some northern towns but I also find the elder Londoners are friendly too .. just the young up or down, cuz they have very few social skills

Someone asked this the other day.

No. Britain is far smaller than you care to imagine.

Look toward your own failings if you find 'chat' difficult.

This

I too am a southerner and, to talk to, am often described using a four letter word ending in 't'

Nope look at the ratio of Northerners on here compared to south. they seem more open to meeting single guys too specially the women

Disagree with the london bit, I had a full night of bar hoping in Soho a couple of weekends ago and met someone new in every bar. People a friendly if you are friendly I find, wherever you may be

News flash! - The south is a lot bigger than just London

I'm VERY chatty and friendly - as our veris will testify. I don't think you can really generalise on friendliness because people are people the world over. Some are friendly, some are shy and some are downright rude.

One thing's for sure though, there are WAY more clubs up north than down here in the club starved south - you lucky buggers!

Oh I wasn't being person specific as I love friendly people but was just a generalisation based on my travels and everywhere I've lived lol I'm an ardent pub goer and just love meeting new people but some places seem to be friendlier than others in my limited experiences

Plymouth and Newcastle (sometimes)

Depends on where you draw the north/south divide as Exeter is classed as 'The North' when you live this far south.

On a mooch

It all depends where you go

I’m a northerner by blood so I’ll talk to anyone, friends have got used to it, but it’s just basic manners to me

It’s happened a few times on meets, I go to the bar and take ages to come back or they go and I’m chatting away when they get back .... oops

Nope - I’m my experience it doesn’t matter where the people I chat to are from. The key for me is attraction. No attraction then it doesn’t matter where you’re from!
