"I wouldn’t have a Mazda to be honest At the moment I have a Mercedes so don’t even know why I fancy a change Yes I’m told the keyless ones are nickable" All cars a nickable, top of the line bmw’s, Mercs and Audi’s are gone in seconds. Keep your keys in a faraday pouch to prevent it but even some of those don’t work. A lead box is pretty much guaranteed to guard from signal cloners.

"I wouldn’t have a Mazda to be honest At the moment I have a Mercedes so don’t even know why I fancy a change Yes I’m told the keyless ones are nickable" Mercedes now are doing what bmws did for year. Living on what ppl perceive as a badge of excellence. Horrible to work on drive like a tracker. I bet they burn a pretty colour. Sorry I honestly dont mean to slag your car off but I think they're dog shit. And that's from a dealer

For me the focus feels massive rather than the fiesta feels small. I do have a smart car as well that is crap but I also think it’s great for what it is.

Got me scratching my head that " Ford haven't used the 'mark' system of differentiation between models since the mid to late 70's - but it seems to be something the car driving public has held on to. My first car was a 79 Capri - what many called a Mk3 (basically a facelifted Mk2 - which came along in 78) Ford simply use the model year. The 'mark' system is also open to a lot of confusion. For example, the originsl Mondeo came along in 93 and was Facelifted in around 96 (I think). A lot of people call this a Mk2, but it's pretty much the same car. The next 'generation' (around 2000 / 2001) is often refered to as the Mk3. There were some cosmetic changes around the middle of it's production run but they were very subtle.

Don't really get your point but never mind. using a mk system to Id a car is only a rough idea for a punter to discriminate different model. Like I've done with the focuses about somebody that knows what they are talking about can explain the difference and with any luck the owner of the car will be able to positively determine what model he's talking about as I'm sure who ever it was I was trying to explain the differences to will no what model they own. From that I'll no if the box of part I've got are any use to him. No idea where he is but if there any good to him and hes not far come get them there in my way but I don't want to bin them. Hopefully I've explained that now the 93 mondeo model on is a pile of crap compared to the face lift i think you call it model from 2001 on. From that model on every model has been a cracking car each incarnation has got better and better. The only problem with the monday as i call them is the size of them. So after the reps have finished with them unless you need a big car there not a big market for them which is a shame because as i said they are a good car i love them especially if I'm doing a long drive. They are an easy drive and comfortable so you can just drive and drive. I think you've got your models mixed up as the mk2 to mk3 are a world apart. It's no face lift its completely different shell rang of engine and taxation class. Insurance class to but can't sware to that.the model body is also a jaguar the jag just has different body skins to it look nothing like the mondeo but lift the bonnet hay presto mondeo.

Mine is generally referred to as a 'mk4' There was a mention earlier on the thread about a difference between 'mk1' & 'mk2' Focus which suggested that they were virtually identical but for some minor changes in respect of indicators moving from bumper to headlight, whereas my understanding is that the 'mk2' was a complete redesign - which is why I picked up on it. Go threw it hourly. The only thing anyone like me can do to identify a model is class ever change no matter how small a new mk. The problem lay when like we do interpret it different. Example is the focus to hand. A mk1 indicator in bumper. Mk2 indicators in headlight. Mk3 changed of everything different car. Imagen this phone rings I need to servise my car how much will you charge. Ok what car is it. Oh yes errr a green 1. Sorry I need more details than that. Oh ok it's got 4 doors oh and my iPhone works through the stereo it's really good you know in look really nice. No that's no help. Are you near the car. Oh yes. Ok well look on the boot it should have some badges on it. What do they say.... it drive you round the twist. How can anyone spend thousands and have no idea what they've spent all that money on.. you have to laugh

If you rock up and try to do a deal on the last day of the month it's unlikely to get you anywhere because - 1. Salesmen, Sales Managers and main dealers only get paid on what is sold and DELIVERED in the month. If you try to do a deal on the last day of the month, unless your ideal car is sat there waiting to go, there's no time to complete the deal, get it paid for and delivered. 2. Johnny will be too busy ensuring the cars that he has already sold are paid for and delivered to deal with anyone else coming in on the last day of the month. 3. why would Jonny sell a car for no profit? Who makes money that way? From a guy who has been there, done it, and generally got pissed off with people offering £5000 for a car marked up at £7995 at 3.45pm on the last day of the month.

Do all you pricing up get the screen price down as much as you can. Then walk no matter what deal they offer you. Then the day before the last day of the month and make a low offer compared to the deal you struck. Keep plugging at it till you had over penny off you can. Main agent big dealer that type of place all work for a really shit wage but can make a good wage out of it fro. The commission. So end of the month Johnny salesman want as many cars on his commission list as he possibly can. His boss also works the same way. So they will balls as many cars out as possible. Sorry that means they will sell a car at the price it come in at so no profit. But little Johnny only care about number. The more metel he moves in a month the faster his wage packet This is bollocks! Why does everyone give this advice and still seem to think it is true?! "I was only asking about a fiesta ST I’m looking at a new one......not an old one So a lot of these replies have nothing to do with the question I asked in the first place Thanx to all the people who gave advice" Get the Titanium Ecoboost 125 - same performance as the ST, but instead of spending money on tarty body kits, you get actual useful extras - I forget which it was, automatic windscreen wipers and lights or cruise control or aircon...something, I compared the two and you got more function for your money with the Titanium. Cracking little car, very nippy, corners on rails, unbeatable interior design for me, and great lumbar support in the seats. Oh and a little engine roar too lol! I looked at the data and it has as much torque as my classic Golf Gti and more bhp I think.

It is to do with coolant and overheating. * Replace the coolant reservoir and cap * Replace the coolant. * Install additional electric coolant pump * Vacuum bleed coolant system and reprogramme the PCM

Later pal " In my experience, and I'm no expert, a salesman in the dealerships I've had something to do with will only sell a car at cost price(plus 100 pounds as they still have to make some kind of profit) if the car has been a trade in. Those cars bought in to be dollied up and sold have an expected market value next to the cars age, condition and miles done. If theres a 1000 pound profit to be made for the dealer on a car then the showroom manager will not let a car go for cost price at the end of a month just to get the car off his stock list when the car could sell the next month for the expected value. Unless maybe the car has been on the forecourt for beards and nobody has shown any interest, then they might let it go for less just to get rid of it. Again, no expert here, I might well be talking tripe as usual
