Healing Crystals

I have an interest in minerals which sometimes leads me into 'crystal healing' shops (in search of the odd lucky find)

So today, I was in one such shop where I heard the following line:

'Oh yes, that's very good for distance healing too. You can put it on a photo of the person you are helping to heal and its powers will get through'

At face value, I just can't buy into it, but I'm open to having my mind changed

What's your thoughts?

Do we have any believers amongst us?

I have crystals but I wear mine.

They’ve never cured aches or ailments. I still call upon the Ibuprofen god when I need to.

I could be convinced by evidence, but my experience in anything religious, spiritual or new-agey is that there are a lot of claims made with no evidence to support them. Luke

I don't believe it's possible to put a crystal on a photograph of a person and for that person to be somehow healed. I do believe that if the person receiving the healing believes it will work it will make them feel better though.

Maybe

They can't all be cynical swines like me can they?

If I was ill, it'd be a case of 'fuck off with that amethyst and get me the tramadol'

I know people who take great comfort from crystals, just carrying a particular one in their pocket enables them to face situations they couldn't if they didn't have them. The mind is a powerful instrument.

You'd be amazed what a couple of weeks and salt water baths can achieve. Just don't forget, if you have stitches use a hairdryer on low to dry it.

Now this is where I just don't know. I know some people who claim they're mediums and in my opinion they're very obviously not. They might have convinced themselves (as I say the mind is powerful) but I've neither seen not heard anything to show me that they're doing anything but cold reading. But too many things have happened to me in my life for me to dismiss out of hand the possibility of something.

Theres literally no scientific backing to any sort of 'healing crystals', its utter bollocks and people that sell them and other holistic medicines and cures are just awful scam artists preying on the ill informed and the easily fooled

That's the stock phrase for people who question any unprovable belief 'you need to open your mind'. I always think why, if something is real my mind should be able to perceive it through one of my senses.

There were two things with the arthritis brushing. She held her hands about 6 inches away from my knee, said she could feel the heat of the arthritis and that I should feel my knee getting hot as she draws the pain to the surface. Then she proceeded to brush her hands across my knee to get rid of the residue sitting on top.

The third eye is in the middle between your eyebrows (I don't know if mono-browed people have fuzzy vision). Apparently, mine is always open and I have to close it sometimes because I can get no rest if it is always open and alert.

I am bonkers, have a busy brain and don't always sleep well so maybe my third eye is always open, in some sense. The technique to close it was to use my hand to close it as I would an eyelid. Insert shrug here.

The woman who 'taught' me to close my third eye and the one who brushed my arthritis away remain as fond memories.

How do 'brush' arthiritis away?

Also, I hope I'm not putting this thread back on a gynaecological setting, but where is your third eye?

"

See, that just sounds like bollocks

I assume you still have arthiritis ?

I won't ask about the over-active mind, cos I can tell from your posts in here that your third eye is still well & truly open
