We all love dressing, I sometimes drive dressed, take pics in public places when no one around ( it’s a thrill)

But never had courage to dress fully in public view

Have you?

What’s it like?

Yes, and often. Maybe it's easier in London as no-one bats an eyelid. I would say don't "overdress" for attention and just get out there and do it. You won't regret it

I went out to a club after just six months of dressing five years ago, now full time and think nothing of it now. But what a thrill it was when I first started, but scary too in a way.

It is an awesome experience ... and providing you dress ‘appropriately’ you will quickly realise the entire world isn’t staring at you.

It is sooo nice to be ‘out’ in public and have been treated with nothing but respect in any shop I have ever been in. I have shopped in ladies fashion shops, I have tried things on in changing rooms, tried make up on make up counters. and always use ladies loo’s ... as a lady should!

Just be careful though .... once you realise there really isn’t an issue about it - other than in your head, it becomes addictive.

Go for it - best of luck

It's very exciting and enjoyable.

Try a trans friendly bar or club the first time and ease yourself into it for a taste of experience.

Being chatted up and complemented I a great confidence booster and makes it all worthwhile.

Settlewick!

I go out as often as I can dressed up,it's a bit nerve wracking but also very liberating .Generally the busier the location ,the less you will stand out.Cafes and bars are a bit daunting at first, especially if you receive unwanted attention and it's hard to get away.

I'd like to somehow engineer a night away in Manchester so I could spend the evening in Canal Street as an experience but it's going to be hard to arrange

I have but felt self conscious.

I once went out for an early dinner, after Sweet Wednesday Club, with another TV. Uncomfortable but made bearable with her presence.

Never again after that but I'm thinking of doing it again but with other TV/TS.

I absolutely agree. I go out as often as I can, which is never often enough, and have never had any negative experiences.

Google 'Sparkle Manchester' it's the Trans celebration weekend. Unfortunately you've missed this year, but why not look at next year's event. As previously stated it's easier when you have company and believe me plenty of Trans will be around

To be honest we'd rather go somewhere that that didn't have lots of t girls around, just prefer to be out socially in the vanilla world or in the swinging scene occasionally.

I think we are talking about the novice , gaining courage to actually step out en femme ,obvs for us seasoned girls stepping out into the vanilla world is uneventful

I went to a trans life event in Brighton years ago, once I got over the nerves of being out as Rachel I lived it.

I have driven back from work dressed several times, usually from Reading to Crawley.

I go out often and occasionally into shops asda etc, used the ladies many times...I usually find it nerve wracking but keep doing it,I have long shapely legs and like to wear tight and short skirts and dresses with high heels...I know I stand out more but I dont dress to be dowdy,if I were a real girl I would dress that way so why not?

As several posters have mentioned above, the sparkle festival can be a big confidence booster for those who have little experience of going out in public. It is a shame that you have missed it for this year, the regular date is second weekend of july. Other than that, most pride events have more than a few transwomen attending, and there are now several towns that have specific trans-pride celebrations.

Also, check google to see if you can find a trans support social group in your area? And feel free to pm me if you would like to talk more about this. Hugs, polly xx

I have, though not in a while. It's always been a thrill and I've been lucky not to encounter anyone nasty.

Shop staff are fine with it - they're all trained these days and your money is as good as anyone's. You'll be all hyped up as you buy a pair of heels or a bra - they're thinking "That's my fifth t-girl in three days."

I dress my age, to coin a phrase, and it works just fine. Without being too nasty about it, middle-aged women rarely get a second glance (I heard Jenny Murray say that on Woman's Hour) and, at a distance of more than six feet, people see exactly what they expect to.

Blending in is actually easier than you fear.

Been to others houses dressed but never out and about. Would love ny dressing time to coincide with lff but alas it does not. The whole idea of being in a bar acting sluty getting chatted up really turns me on.

I have no desire to do shopping trips dinner etc whilst dressed as being dressed is still a massive turn in for me so for me uts all about the way i behave whilst outdooors.

Been watching lots of videos of girls out in public doing daring things. That interests me a lot now. Ive been out in the garden trying noot to get caught. That was a thrill.

I still remember that night we took you into town for your first night out in public fully dressed!

A drink or two at the busy Wetherspoons, a wander around the docks (and you had a bit of fun with a random there!), and the evening finished off with a pizza.

It was an honour to help, and have you begin your journey as the Wild Child
